Ohio State is 11-3 this season (3-1 B1G), with the Blue Devils also 11-3 (5-0 ACC). Earlier this season, Ohio State defeated Duke 4-2 in the first round of the ITA National Team Indoor Championship Feb. 6 in Champaign, Ill.

Buckeyes vs. Blue Devils
- Against Duke, the Buckeyes are 4-8 all-time, with wins in the last three matches.
- Ohio State posted a 4-3 win on the road at Duke in 2025 and notched a 4-0 victory at home in 2024.
- At National Indoors in February, Ohio State downed the Blue Devils, 4-2. Audrey Spencer led the way for the Buckeyes in the match. She and Sophia Cisse-Ignatiev clinched the doubles point with a 7-5 win and Spencer then sealed the team victory with a three-set win in singles. Luciana Perry posted the Buckeyes' first singles point and paired with Flora Johnson for a doubles victory and Teah Chavez was also victorious in singles.Â
- Duke, ranked 23rd, is 11-3 on the year and won at home over Louisville and Notre Dame, both 4-0, last weekend.
- In this week's ITA rankings, Duke's Irina Balus is No. 19, with Aspen Schuman No. 89 and Eleana Yu No.112 in singles. In doubles, the Blue Devil duos of Shavit Kimchi and Liv Hovde is No. 18, Hovde and Balus are No. 40 and Yu and Claire An are No. 73 are listed.
- The Buckeyes are ranked third in the ITA team rankings this week, their sixth straight week in the Top 3, with the last five at No. 2.
- The squad started the season No. 13 and was No. 12 in the second poll, moving to No. 10 Jan. 28.
- Four other Big Ten teams are ranked in the Top 25 this week - No. 8 USC, No.10 UCLA, No. 21 Washington and No. 22 Wisconsin.
- In the new singles rankings, Teah Chavez (No. 4) and Luciana Perry (No.5) remained in the Top 5 for the third straight release. Â Â
- Earlier this season, Chavez and Perry became the second and third Buckeyes to earn a spot in the singles Top 3, joining Francesca Di Lorenzo, who was as high as No. 1 in 2016 and '17.
- Nao Nishino is No. 86 in singles last week, with Audrey Spencer No. 100.
- In doubles, the tandem of Hephzibah Oluwadare and Chavez is No. 14 this week.
- Perry and Chavez are No. 76, with Flora Johnson and Perry No. 84.
- Ohio State is 11-3 on the year after going 1-2 in California last week against Top 15 teams. The Buckeyes opened the trip with a loss at No. 6 Pepperdine before beating No. 8 UCLA. Ohio State fell to No. 12 UCLA Sunday.
- In dual matches, Audrey Spencer is 9-0, with Teah Chavez 9-1, followed by Luciana Perry at 8-2. Spencer has won her last 13 completed matches.
- Overall, Nao Nishino has a team-best 19 victories this year, Perry has 16 and Chavez and Spencer each have 15.
- As a team, the Buckeyes have nine wins on courts one, two and six, with eight victories on court four, seven on court five and four on court three.
- Ten of the 12 teams the Buckeyes have faced this season were ranked in the Top 25 at the time of the match, including three in the Top 5. This week, three Buckeye opponents are in the Top 5 - No. 1 Georgia, No. 2 Pepperdine and No. 5 Texas A&M.
- In the Big Ten standings, USC is 4-0, with Washington 3-0. Ohio State has a 4-1 mark, while Wisconsin and Michigan are both 3-1. Â
- The ITA announced Ohio State will serve as a host school for the ITA National Team Indoor Championships in both 2027 and 2028. A joint host with Michigan, both schools will host opening rounds of play each year. Michigan will host the semifinals and final in 2027 and Ohio State will host the semifinals and final in 2028. Host schools are automatically in the 16-team tournament field.
- Ohio State will continue its homestand with two Big Ten matches next weekend. The Buckeyes will host Rutgers at 2 p.m. March 27 and Maryland at 2 p.m. March 29. Matches are scheduled to be played outside at the Auer Tennis Complex and admission and parking are free.
