COLUMBUS, Ohio – The USTFCCCA announced its regional awards for the 2026 indoor track season on Thursday. Ohio State student-athletes DJ Fillmore and Aniya Mosley were selected as Great Lakes region honorees for their performance during the 2026 indoor season.
Fillmore was selected as the Great Lakes Region Men's Field Athlete of the Year. The Blacklick, Ohio native won the men's long jump competition at four different meets this season, including at the Big Ten Championships where he broke an Ohio State program record that stood since 1992 and became the first Buckeye to be a Big Ten Champion in the men's long jump since Zack Bazile in 2018. His mark of 8.23m/27'0" was the third best in the country this season and earned him a chance to compete at the NCAA Indoor Championships, where he placed 10th and received Second-Team All-American honors.
Mosley was named the Great Lakes Region Women's Track Athlete of the Year after an indoor season that rewrote the Ohio State record book. The senior from Virginia Beach, Va. established program bests in the 800m (2:01.44), 1000m (2:42.87) and mile (4:28.30) races, giving her a total of five indoor and outdoor program records. She won three events over the course of the season, claimed silver in the 800m at the Big Ten Championships and competed at the NCCA Indoor Championships where she received Second-Team All-American honors for her performance in the 800m.
Heading into outdoor season, both Fillmore and Mosley were named Big Ten Athletes to Watch. Ohio State's outdoor season begins Friday when the Buckeyes travel to Tampa, Fla., to compete in the USF Alumni Invitational.
