
Buckeyes Shine at CSCAA National Invitational

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State wrapped up competition at the CSCAA National Invitational Championships Saturday in Ocala, Fla. The Buckeye men placed second with 746.5 points and the women placed third with 496 points.

- The 200 free relay placed third in the A final. The team of Austin Hickok, Ethan Reniewicki, Mason Francis and Rayburn Kohl turned in a time of 1:19.22.
- In the A final of the 50 back, Krys Gorski turned in a time of 22.51 and Cooper Burt swam a 22.56, to place eighth and ninth, respectively.
- Kohl turned in a first-place finish in the B final of the 50 back with a time of 22.23.
- TJ Frost set a new CSCAA meet record in the 500 free. Frost won the A final with a time of 4:17.36, breaking the previous record of 4:18.02. In the B final, Gherman Prudnikau placed first with a personal best time of 4:25.01.
- Hickok swam a time of 20.98 to place second in the A final of the 50 fly. Joseph Roth turned in a time of 22.00 to finish ninth in the B final.
- In the 200 IM A final, Sam Vaisburg finished in third place with a time of 1:46.34, a new personal best.
- Luke Vickers won the B final of the 50 breast with a time of 24.68. Francis finished in ninth in the A final with a time of 24.84.
- Reniewicki touched the wall at 19.93 for a fourth-place finish in the 50 free A final.
- The 400 medley relay team of Roth, Francis, Hickok and Reniewicki placed third in the A final with a time of 3:08.59.
- The 200 medley relay team of Roth, Francis, Hickok and Reniewicki finished second with a time of 1:25.68.
- Frost was the winner of the 400 IM, setting his second meet record of the weekend. He finished in 3:44.87. Vaisburg was right behind him, placing second with a time of 3:47.26.
- Hickok finished ninth in the A final of the 100 back, touching at 47.55.
- In the 200 free, Reniewicki placed eighth with a time of 1:37.63.
- Francis was the winner of the 100 breast, turning in a time of 52.46. Vickers was the winner of the B final, touching at 53.32.
- Roth was the second-place finisher in the 100 back with a time of 46.42. Gorski placed fifth with a time of 47.49 and Kohl placed seventh with a time of 47.64. In the B final, Burt placed second with a time of 48.42.
- Frost was the winner of both the 1000 free (9:07.70) and the 1650 free (15:08.45). Prudnikau placed fourth in the 1000 free (9:15.67) and sixth in the 1650 free (15:25.07).
- Francis was the winner of the 100 IM, turning in a time of 48.43. Vickers won the B final with a time of 49.61.
- Gorski was the winner of the 200 back, touching at 1:41.58, which is a meet record. Roth placed third in the A final with a time of 1:42.98 and Kohl placed ninth in the A final with a time of 1:45.80. In the B final, Burt finished fourth with a time of 1:47.03.
- In the B final of the 100 free, Reniewicki (44.01) finished second and Hickok (44.12) finished third.
- Vickers finished sixth in the 200 breast, turning in a time of 1:57.07.
- In the 400 free relay, the team of Reniewicki, Hickok, Frost and Francis placed second with a time of 2:53.91.
Women's Meet Notes
- The 200 free relay team of Taya Hutchison, Lorin Tobler, Elise Nardozzi and Danika Varda swam a time of 1:32.38 to finish fourth in the A final.
- In the A final of the 50 back, Sienna Rodgers finished in seventh with a time of 25.10.
- Abigail Perry swam personal-best time of 4:47.11 in the A final of the 500 free to place fourth. Nardozzi turned in a time of 4:54.72 in the B final to place seventh.
- In the 50 fly A final, Tobler turned in a time of 24.49 to finish in ninth.
- Jessica Eden secured the first-place finish in the 200 IM with a time of 1:59.07. Also in the A final, Varda swam a time of 2:01.13 to place tenth.
- Varda came in fourth in the 50 breast B final with a time of 28.67.
- In the 50 free, Hutchison placed second with a time of 22.77 in the A final.
- The Buckeyes won the A final of the 400 medley relay. The team of Rodgers, Varda, Tobler and Hutchison posted the winning time of 3:38.42.
- In the 200 medley relay, the team of Rodgers, Varda, Tobler and Hutchison placed third with a time of 1:39.88.
- Eden was the winner of the 400 IM with a meet record time of 4:10.70.
- In the 100 fly, Tobler placed seventh in the A final with a time of 53.64.
- Perry was the third-place finisher in the 200 free, touching at 1:47.12. Nardozzi placed eighth in the A final with a time of 1:49.29.
- Varda placed third in the 100 breast with a time of 1:00.61.
- In the 100 back, Nika Sharafutdinova finished in ninth place with a time of 54.54.
- The Buckeyes placed fourth in the 800 free relay with the team of Perry, Shadee Montassier, Nardozzi and Eden turning in a time of 7:18.44.
- Charlotte LePage placed 31st in both the 1000 free (10:18.20) and the 1650 free (17:13.37).
- In the 200 back A final, Sharafutdinova placed seventh with a time of 1:57.37. In the B final, Nardozzi placed fifth with a time of 1:58.57.
- Hutchison tied for third in the 100 free with a time of 49.58. Perry was the winner of the B final with a time of 50.12.
- Varda won the 100 breast, touching at 2:09.47, which is a meet record.
- Eden was the winner of the 200 fly, finishing in a time of 1:57.74. Tobler placed fifth in the A final with a time of 1:59.46.
