EAST LANSING, Mich. – The No. 13/12 Ohio State women's basketball team (24-6, 13-5 B1G) beat No. 15/15 Michigan State (22-7, 11-7 B1G) on Sunday afternoon by an 87-68 margin to wrap up the regular season, making a program-record 18 three-pointers in the victory.

Ohio State used an 11-0 run and stout defense to build a 23-9 after 10 minutes. The Buckeyes led by as many as 30 points during the second quarter and held the 49-26 advantage at halftime. The Spartans scored the final six points of a back-and-forth third quarter as the Buckeyes held a 62-48 lead after 30 minutes. Ohio State held a double-digit lead through the remainder of the game to earn the 87-68 win.

Kennedy Cambridge became the sole program record holder with 120 total steals this season. Jaloni Cambridge was the first in the game to reach double figures and finished the game with 33 points. Chance Gray (21), K. Cambridge (10) and Elsa Lemmilä (11) joined J. Cambridge in double figures. Lemmilä added a game-high 10 rebounds for her fifth double-double of the season.

Quarter-by-Quarter Recap

Q1: Elsa Lemmilä opened scoring and the Buckeyes built a 9-2 lead heading into the media timeout midway through the quarter. Ohio State held Michigan State without a basket for nearly seven minutes. The Buckeyes used an 11-0 run, capped by back-to-back three-pointers from Ava Watson, to increase their lead to 15-2. Watson made her third triple of the game to end the first quarter as Ohio State held a 23-9 advantage.
Q2: J. Cambridge sunk her third triple of the game to reach double figures and extend the Buckeyes' lead to 28-11 with 8:21 to play in the quarter. The Buckeyes continued on their run of 15 unanswered points to push their advantage to 38-11. Ohio State led by as many as 30 points at 49-19 and held the 49-26 lead going into the locker room.
Q3: Michigan State opened the second half with a 7-2 run to trim its deficit to 51-33. J. Cambridge scored the Buckeyes' first eight points of the quarter to offset Spartan baskets. Michigan State scored the final six points of the quarter as Ohio State led by a 62-48 margin with one quarter remaining.
Q4: Gray converted a second-chance three-pointer to begin the fourth quarter's scoring. J. Cambridge made her career-high seventh triple of the game as the Buckeyes led 68-52 with seven minutes to play. Scoring was a back-and-forth affair for the remainder of the game and was capped at 87-68.
