INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The No. 11/11 ranked and No. 5 seeded Ohio State women's basketball team (24-6, 13-5 B1G) beat No. 13 seeded Indiana (18-13, 6-12 B1G) by an 83-59 margin in the second round of the Big Ten Tournament on Thursday.

Indiana led by as many as six points during the first quarter, but Ohio State tied the game at 12 at the end of the first quarter. The Buckeyes used a 12-0 run in the second quarter to take a 36-24 lead into the locker room. Ohio State put together a 10-0 run early in the third quarter to stretch its lead to 61-40 after three quarters of play. The Buckeyes had the 22-19 edge in the final quarter to wrap up the game.

Jaloni Cambridge was the first in the game to reach double figures and finished with 19 points. Elsa Lemmilä totaled 11 rebounds in the first half on her way to 13 rebounds in the game. Chance Gray joined J. Cambridge in double figures in the first half and totaled 18 points. Kennedy Cambridge (14) also scored in double figures.

Quarter-by-Quarter Recap

Q1: Indiana opened scoring the game's scoring before Chance Gray got Ohio State on the board. The Buckeyes took their first lead at 4-3 before a 7-0 Hoosier run. Indiana led by a 12-6 margin with three minutes to play in the quarter. Ohio State scored the final six points of the quarter to tie the game at 12 after 10 minutes of play.
Q2: The Hoosiers again scored first in the quarter before the Buckeyes took the lead back with 12 unanswered points, a run capped by Chance Gray's second triple of the quarter. The Buckeyes held a 24-14 advantage with six minutes to play before halftime. The teams alternated scoring with J. Cambridge getting to the line a trio of times during that stretch. Ohio State led by as many as 13 points at 33-20 with two minutes remaining and took a 36-24 lead into the locker room.
Q3: Indiana scored the first five points of the third quarter to cut its deficit to seven, but Ohio State responded with the next 10 points as the Buckeyes led by a 46-29 margin with 6:10 remaining in the frame. Neither team scored more than four unanswered points until a 7-0 run from the Buckeyes that pushed their lead to 59-38. Ohio State led by a 61-40 margin after 30 minutes of play.
Q4: Ohio State scored six unanswered points to increase the lead to 70-44 with seven minutes to play. The teams alternated scoring for much of the remainder of the game. Scoring was capped with 83-59.

Game Notes

Ohio State totaled 20 or more assists for the 10^th time this season with 21 assists today.
This is the fifth time this season that the Buckeyes have committed less than 10 turnovers, committing just eight today.
The Buckeyes had four different players with five or more rebounds apiece, winning the team rebounding battle by a 45-33 mark.
Kennedy Cambridge has recorded at least one steal in all 31 games this season. She continues to extend her program record with 121 steals this season. She also scored in double figures for the 13^th time this season with 14 points today.
Jaloni Cambridge has scored in double figures in each of the Buckeyes' 31 games this season and was the first one to reach 10 points in the game today. She finished with 19 points to bring her season total to 722 points, ranking eighth in program history.
Elsa Lemmilä totaled 11 rebounds in the first half on her way to 13 total rebounds and also tied her career-high five assists. She's recorded 10 or more rebounds in each of the last five games. After three blocks today, she's tied for ninth in a single season in program history with 68 blocks.
Chance Gray scored in double figures for the 24^th time this season with 18 points today.
Q1: The Buckeyes scored the final six points of the quarter and made their final three field goal attempts. Ohio State's defense forced Indiana to miss its final five field goal attempts of the quarter.
Q2: Ohio State outrebounded Indiana by a 16-6 margin in the quarter. Lemmilä had seven rebounds in the quarter alone.
