COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 2 Ohio State women's tennis team defeated Michigan State 6-1 in its first outdoor match of the year. Ohio State is now 9-1 this season and 2-0 in the Big Ten. The Spartans are 6-4 overall and 0-1 in league play.Â

Buckeyes Hephzibah Oluwadare, Sophia Cisse-Ignatiev and Alessia Cau all posted victories in singles and doubles, helping Ohio State take the win. Teah Chavez paired with Cau for a doubles win. Luciana Perry and Flora Johnson also notched singles victories. Â

- The duo of Teah Chavez and Alessia Cau beat Amara Brahmbhatt and Matilde Morais in a 6-0 sweep on court three.
- The Buckeyes notched their first point when first doubles Sophia Cisse-Ignatiev and Hephzibah Oluwadare swept Oriana Parkins-Godwin and Issey Purser 6-0 on court one.
- Sixth singles Flora Johnson beat Parkins-Godwin 6-1, 6-2 to bring the score to 2-0.
