COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 2 Ohio State women's tennis team defeated Michigan, 4-1, Friday in the Ty Tucker Tennis Center. Ohio State is now 10-1 this season and 3-0 in the Big Ten. The Wolverines are 3-5 overall and 0-1 in league play.Â
After losing the doubles point, Ohio State came back to win the first four singles matches to post the victory. Buckeyes Hephzibah Oluwadare and Teah Chavez paired up for a doubles win and notched singles victories. while Luciana Perry and Audrey Spencer also won in singles to secure the team victory and keep the Buckeyes undefeated in the Big Ten. Oluwadare claimed her match in straight sets, with the other five matches all going to a third set. Â

- The Buckeyes' No. 17-ranked duo of Hephzibah Oluwadare and Teah Chavez clinched a 6-2 doubles victory over No. 36 Lily Jones and Jessica Bernales on court one.Â
- The Wolverines took courts three and two for the doubles point and 1-0 lead. Â
- Five of six Buckeyes posted first-set wins to open singles. Â
- On court six, Oluwadare defeated Bayley Sheinin, 6-1, 6-1, to tie the team score.Â
- After Oluwadare's victory, the remaining matches went to a third set. Â
- On court three, Sophia Cisse-Ignatiev beat No. 123-ranked Reese Miller, 6-3, 2-6, 6-3, for a 2-1 Ohio State lead.Â
- No. 4-ranked Chavez rallied to defeat No. 15 Lily Jones, 2-6, 6-3, 6-3, on court two to put the Buckeyes a point away.Â
- To clinch the Buckeye victory, No. 102 ranked Audrey Spencer defeated Emily Sartz-Lunde on court four, 6-3, 1-6, 6-2.Â
- The match on court one was suspended with Buckeye Luciana Perry up a break early in the third set. On court five, Ohio State's Nao Nishino was down a break late in the third set. Â
- In dual matches, Chavez and Spencer are both 8-0 to lead the Buckeyes, while Oluwadare is 4-2 and Cisse-Ignatiev is 4-3. Â
- The Buckeyes head out west for a nonconference match at No. 16 Pepperdine at 3 p.m. ET March 11 before B1G matches at No. 6 UCLA at 3 p.m. ET March 14 and at No. 17 USC at 3 p.m. ET March 15.Â
- A three-match homestand follows. Ohio State will face Duke at noon March 22, Rutgers at 2 p.m. March 27 and Maryland at 2 p.m. March 29. Matches are scheduled to be played outside at the Auer Tennis Complex and admission and parking are free.Â
