COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 13/12 Ohio State women's basketball team (23-6, 12-5 B1G) fell to No. 8/8 Michigan (23-5, 14-3 B1G) in Wednesday night's regular season home finale in an overtime thriller. Kennedy Cambridge tied the single season program record by bringing her season total to 115 steals.

Ohio State used a pair of 7-0 runs in the opening frame to build a 28-14 lead after 10 minutes of play. Michigan battled back to take the lead, but Ohio State was in front, 40-39, going into the locker room. The Wolverines led by a 61-53 margin after 30 minutes of play. Ohio State erased a four-point deficit in the final four minutes of regulation and Jaloni Cambridge made three free throws with less than a second remaining to send the game to overtime. Ohio State built an eight-point lead in overtime but Michigan scored the final 10 points of the game as the Buckeyes' final shot was deemed not in time.

Jaloni Cambridge was the first Buckeye in double figures, reaching 10 points early in the third quarter and finishing with 22 points. Kylee Kitts (11) and Chance Gray (19) joined J. Cambridge in double figures. Elsa Lemmilä recorded her third consecutive game with 10 or more rebounds by totaling a career-high 15 rebounds tonight and added 11 points for her fourth double-double of the season. J. Cambridge also added a career-high nine assists.

Quarter-by-Quarter Recap

Q1: Michigan opened scoring and Ohio State took its first lead at 5-4 after a three-point play from Chance Gray. The Buckeyes strung together seven unanswered points to take a 12-6 lead with 5:26 to play in the opening frame. Martin made her third triple of the quarter to cap a 10-2 Buckeye run to give OSU a 22-10 lead. Gray made a three-pointer in the final seconds of the quarter as Ohio State held the 28-14 advantage.
Q2: The Wolverines scored the first six points of the quarter to trim their deficit to 28-20 with 7:53 remaining before halftime. Michigan put together a 7-0 run to get within three at 30-27 with 5:47 to play and tied the game at 32 and 34. The Wolverines took their first lead since the first quarter at 39-37 with 38 seconds to play. J. Cambridge gave the Buckeyes a 40-39 lead going into the locker room with a three-pointer as time winded down.
Q3: A 9-1 Wolverine run gave the visitors a 50-43 lead with four minutes to play in the quarter. The Buckeyes scored the next six points to trim their deficit to one at 50-49 with 2:44 remaining in the frame. Michigan led by a 61-53 margin after three quarters of play.
Q4: The teams traded baskets to begin the fourth quarter before the Buckeyes made back-to-back baskets to trim their deficit to 67-62 midway through the quarter. Ohio State's extended 11-2 run tied the game at 69 with just under three minutes to play. The Buckeyes took their first lead of the quarter at 71-69 but the Wolverines scored the next five points to take a 74-71 lead with 10 seconds to play. J. Cambridge made all three free throw attempts with less than one second remaining on the game clock to tie the game at 74 to force overtime.
OT: The Buckeyes scored five minutes in the opening minute of the overtime period before the Wolverines got to the line. Back-to-back Buckeye baskets gave Ohio State an 86-78 lead but Michigan tied the game at 86 with 15 seconds to play following back-to-back three-pointers. The Wolverines won by an 88-86 margin after the Buckeyes' final shot was deemed not off in time.

Kennedy Cambridge has tallied at least one steal in every game this season. Her three steals tonight brings her season total to 115, which ties the single-season program record. Yvette Angel set the program record with 115 steals during the 1984-85 season.
This is the Buckeyes' first overtime game of the season.
