COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 2 ranked Ohio State women's tennis team defeated No.25 Oklahoma State, 4-3, Sunday in Stillwater, Okla. Ohio State is now 8-1 on the year and the Cowgirls are 3-4.

Oklahoma State took the doubles point with wins on courts one and two. The Cowgirls did not have a full lineup and defaulted singles six for a 1-1 match. Teah Chavez and Audrey Spencer won back-to-back in straight sets for a 3-1 Ohio State lead. Oklahoma State took court four for a 3-2 match but Luciana Perry prevailed in a second set tiebreaker on court one to seal the Buckeye win. The Cowgirls claimed the last match for the 4-3 final.

Ohio State will be back home for its next two matches, hosting Michigan State at noon Feb. 28 and No. 17 Michigan at 6 p.m. March 6.

How it Happened

Oklahoma State forfeited court three doubles because it did not have enough players.
The Cowgirls rallied and won on courts one (6-3) and two (6-4) for the doubles point and a 1-0 lead in the match.
A forfeit of the No. 6 singles match tied the team score at one.
Ohio State's No. 2-ranked Teah Chavez cruised to a win on court two, downing Anastasiya Komar, 6-3, 6-3, for a 2-1 Buckeye lead.
Audrey Spencer, ranked 68th, followed with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Melisa Ercan on court five, moving Ohio State to a 3-1 advantage.
On court four, Luca Udvardy defeated Buckeye No. 44 Nao Nishino, 7-5, 6-3, to make it a one-point match.
On court one, No. 4-ranked Luciana Perry took the first set against No. 40 Olivia Lincer, 6-4. The second set went to a tiebreak, where Perry rolled to a 7-1 win to clinch her match and the team victory.
The final match was on court three, where No. 24 Rose Marie Nijkamp defeated No. 87 Sophia Cisse-Ignatiev in three sets.
Chavez and Spencer are both 7-0 in dual matches this spring, while Perry has six dual wins.
