
Angove Wins 500 Free Silver on Night Three of B1G Championships

Day Three Results
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 11 Ohio State women's swimming and diving team wrapped up the third day of competition at the Big Ten Championships on Friday night, highlighted by Sienna Angove winning silver in the 500 free.
The night opened with the three-meter dive consolation final. Lena Hentschel and Mia Prusiecki placed first and second, respectively. Hentschel recorded a score of 341.30 and Prusiecki had a score of 310.70. Both are NCAA Zones qualifying scores.
In the B final of the 100 back, KK LeBlanc finished third with an NCAA standard time of 52.10 and Delia Lloyd placed eighth with a time of 53.86. In the C final, Lorin Tobler finished seventh with a time of 54.27.
Danika Varda earned a second-place finish in the B final of the 200 breast, touching at 2:10.73, which is an NCAA standard time. Maria Ramos finished fourth in the B final with an NCAA standard time of 2:10.88. In the C final, Paige Delma placed third with a time of 2:11.92.
Three Buckeyes swam in the A final of the 500 free. Angove won the silver medal, finishing in an NCAA standard and personal-best time of 4:37.44. Also in the A final, Mila Nikanorov placed fourth with a time of 4:39.19 and Emma Finlin placed seventh with a time of 4:42.45. Both are NCAA standard times.
In the B final of the 500 free, Adair Shaw placed second, turning in an NCAA standard time of 4:43.08. Lucy Malys placed sixth with a time of 4:45.66.
In the A final of the 50 free, Rachel Bockrath placed fourth with a time of 21.78 and Carrie Furbee tied for sixth with a time of 21.93. Both are NCAA standard times. In the C final of the 50 free, LeBlanc placed fifth with a time of 22.47.
The night closed out with the 400 medley relay. The team of LeBlanc, Ramos, Furbee and Erin Little finished fifth with an NCAA provisional time of 3:31.08.
After three days of competition, the Buckeyes are in second place with 714.5 points. Michigan leads with 883 points and Ohio State is 20.5 points ahead of third-place Indiana (694).
The Big Ten Championships conclude on Saturday, Feb. 21. Prelims begin at 11 a.m. ET and finals begin at 6:30 p.m. ET. Both sessions will stream live on B1G+.
