How it Happened: Ohio State 7, Northern Illinois 2
- Tossing a complete game, Jenna Molk allowed just one earned run and struck out six batters for her second win of the season.
- The Buckeyes got on the board first when Emma Tolley homered in her first start of the 2026 season. Tolley's home run, which came in the top of the second inning, was the second of her Ohio State career.
- Northern Illinois tied it up in the bottom of the inning on an error.
- Sami Bewick put the Buckeyes back on top in the fourth, doubling to score Hailey Lang.
- Sara Tarr added to the lead the next inning, dropping a single into left center that scored Taylor Cruse and put Ohio State up 4-1.
- The Huskies would tack on their second in the sixth on an RBI single from Mia Morera, bringing the score to 4-2.
- Holding that 4-2 lead, Ohio State got out of a bases-loaded jam in the bottom of the sixth. Molk got a strikeout and ground out to end the threat and send Ohio State back into the dugout with a two-run lead.
- In the seventh, the Buckeyes would plate three, beginning with a solo home run by Abbie Wilhelm. Bewick later singled to score Tanaya Barrett, with Skylar Limon singling up the middle to score Tarr to give Ohio State its victory margin of 7-2.
- Molk's outing lowered her ERA to a team-best 2.28. She has allowed just five earned runs over 15.1 innings of action.
- Texas got ahead first on a Leighann Goode RBI single in the first inning.
- Kayden Henry added to the lead in the second with a three-run home run, followed up by a Reese Atwood two-run homer that put Texas in front 6-0 in the second.
- The Buckeyes clawed their way back to a tied game in the third, with homers from Taylor Cruse, Bewick and Limon, alongside an RBI double off the bat of Sara Tarr that scored Abbie Wilhelm.
- A passed ball and a grand slam by Atwood ended the third with Texas back in front 11-6.
- Texas ended the game in five by a score of 14-6 with a Leighann Goode home run and a MaTaia Lawson RBI single.
- Kennedy Kay would get the loss against Texas, going 3.1 innings and allowing seven earned runs. Lorin Boutte got the start, tossing 1.1 innings and allowing six earned runs
