
Buckeyes Turn in NCAA Standard Times at Winter Invite

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 11 Ohio State men's and women's swimming and diving teams wrapped up the Ohio State Winter Invitational on Sunday at McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion.

- The 200 free relay team of Rasmus Hanson, Jack Schuster, Evan Fentress and Matt Klinge swam an NCAA provisional time of 1:16.56 to start Friday's finals with a first-place finish. This is the fastest 200 free relay time of the season for the Buckeyes.
- Austin Hickok placed second in the 100 fly finals with a time of 46.89, improving on his prelims time of 47.48. Cooper Burt finished fifth in finals, touching at 49.85 after swimming a 50.04 in prelims.
- In the 400 IM, Sam Vaisburg won the event with an NCAA standard time of 3:46.11. Competing in the event for the first time since joining the Buckeyes midyear, he dropped more than four seconds from his prelims time of 3:50.98.
- TJ Frost finished second in the 200 free finals with a time of 1:34.62, improving on his second-place prelims time of 1:35.90.
- In the 100 breast, Luke Vickers was the first-place finisher in both prelims (53.27) and finals (53.56).
- The 200 medley relay team of Cooper Burt, Mason Francis, Austin Hickok and Rayburn Kohl swam a time of 1:27.25 in the finals to place third.
- Burt placed third in the 100 back prelims with a time of 48.61.
- Ohio State claimed the top two spots in the 200 breast prelims. Sam Vasiburg won with a personal best of 1:57.84, followed by Luke Vickers in second with a time of 1:58.11.
- TJ Frost swam a personal best in the 500 free prelims with a time of 4:18.57 for a first-place finish.
- The Buckeyes went 1-2-3 in the 50 free prelims. Ahmed Ismail placed first with a time of 19.79. Ethan Reniewicki touched at 19.88 for second place and Hickok swam a time of 19.89 for third.
- Hickok placed second in the 50 free finals with a time of 20.16.
- Gherman Prudnikau swam a time of 1:49.63 in the 200 fly prelims to finish in second.
- In the 200 back prelims, Rayburn Kohl placed second with a time of 1:45.80.
Women's Meet Notes
- In the 100 fly prelims, Emmy Therrien swam a time of 55.71, to finish fourth.
- Charlotte LePage finished first in the 200 free prelims with a time of 1:49.71.

- The Big Ten Championships are next up for the Buckeyes. The women will compete Feb. 18-21 in Minneapolis and the men will compete Feb. 25-28 in Madison.
