COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 2 Ohio State women's hockey team plays its first of two straight road series this weekend at No. 15 St. Cloud State. The Buckeyes (17-3-0, 11-3-0 WCHA) and Huskies (7-12-1, 3-10-1 WCHA) face off at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9 and 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10 from the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center to close the regular season series between the teams.

Buckeyes in a Nutshell
Ohio State continues the Minnesota road trip at Minnesota State Jan. 16-17. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. in game one and 4 p.m. in game two between the Buckeyes and the Mavericks from Mayo Clinic HSEC in Mankato, Minn.

Buckeyes in a Nutshell
- Ohio State will play its fifth straight ranked opponent this weekend in the Huskies. The team is 13-3-0 against ranked teams this season. The Buckeyes' strength of schedule is rated second in the country, behind St. Cloud State.
- Ohio State remains second in both national polls this week with 279 points in the USCHO.com poll and 266 in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll.
- This weekend marks the Buckeyes' first WCHA contest in over a month. Ohio State is second in the league standings with 32 points.
- Kaia Malachino made her long-anticipated Buckeye debut and return to the ice last weekend. The junior forward played in her first minutes in the scarlet and gray after being sidelined by injury in the first half of the season. She recorded a goal and an assist in the series against Penn State.
- Rookie forward Hilda Svensson leads the team with 36 points this season. She paces rookies nationally in points, goals (13) and assists (23). Svensson is currently ninth in season points by an Ohio State freshman. She is the third Buckeye in as many years to reach 30 points in her rookie campaign.
- Junior forward Joy Dunne has scored a team-high 18 goals this season. She has five game-winning goals this year and her goal in game one vs. Penn State was her program record 18th game-winning goal of her career. She has 15 assists on the year for 33 points.
- Ohio State has two current and five total players who will play for their respective countries at the upcoming Milano Cortina Winter Olympics in February. Dunne will join alumnae Cayla Barnes ('24) and Hannah Bilka ('24) on the Team USA squad. Sanni Vanhanen will skate for Finland and Andrea Braendli ('22) for Switzerland.
- Eleven players are scoring in double figures for the Buckeyes through the first 20 games of the season. Sanni Vanhanen joins Svensson and Dunne with double-digit goals (10) while Jocelyn Amos (10), Sara Swiderski (11) and Sloane Matthews (11) are in the double digits for assists.
- Hailey MacLeod leads the goaltending unit with 13 games played and started this season. She has a .911 save percentage,1.75 goals against average and two shutouts on the year for an 11-2-0 record. She earned WCHA Goaltender of the Week honors this week after earning two wins and a .956 save percentage in last weekend's series against Penn State.
- Ohio State is 67-31-12 in the all-time series against St. Cloud State and 34-16-4 against the Huskies in St. Cloud.
- The Buckeyes swept the first meeting between the teams this season in Columbus with 5-1 and 4-2 wins.
- Dunne recorded her first hat trick of the season in the last meeting between the teams as the team scored four goals in the final 12 minutes of the game for the win.
