How it Happened
- Ohio State took the lead 1:51 into the first period on Saturday off a Jordyn Petrie goal. She won the puck back in front of the Buckeye bench and skated it herself into the Tommies' zone. The Lincoln, Neb. native beat her defender and the glove of St. Thomas goaltender Nora Hannan to put Ohio State in front.
- MacLeod stopped four shots in the opening frame.
- Jocelyn Amos doubled the Ohio State advantage at 5:25 in the second period, scoring off a St. Thomas turnover in front of its net. She sent a back-handed shot past Hannan for the 2-0 Buckeye lead.
- Ohio State went on its only power play of the day at 8:48 in the second after St. Thomas was called for a hold. Joy Dunne scored 1:42 later to extend the Buckeye lead. She was assisted by Matthews and Hilda Svensson.
- The third goal of the middle frame was scored by Cimoroni at 17:47. A result of a tic-tac-toe sequence by Sanni Vanhanen, Jenna Raunio and Cimoroni, the goal put Ohio State ahead, 4-0, at the second intermission.
- The final tally of the game came from Matthews at 15:42 in the third period. Brooke Disher sent a shot from the point towards the St. Thomas goal and it was tipped past Hannan by Matthews. Cimoroni added the second assist.
- The shutout is the team's sixth of the season and MacLeod's fourth of the year.
- Ohio State improves to 22-0-0 against the Tommies all-time with the win.
- Dunne now leads the team with five power play goals on the year.
- Amos led the team with three goals in the series against the Tommies. She has five goals in the last four games for the Buckeyes.
