COLUMBUS, Ohio -- No. 2 Ohio State (12-0, 1-0) takes to the road for the first time in Big Ten Conference play to face No. 7 Minnesota Friday (7 p.m./BTN) and No. 6 Nebraska (2 p.m./B1G+) Sunday. Â
- The Buckeyes won their Big Ten opener Jan. 11 in Columbus against No. 23 Indiana, 45-0. It was the first shutout in the series with the Hoosiers. The last time Ohio State shutout a league opponent was Jan. 31, 2023 at Maryland, 41-0.Â
- Ohio State had a pair of champions last Sunday at the Red Raider Open. Freshmen Brogan Fielding (141) and Maddox Shaw (149) were champions in their respective brackets. Â Â
- Ohio State traveled west to take on Oregon State in Corvallis early in the new year. The Buckeyes came away with a 41-3 victory while allowing one takedown in the match.Â
- In the Minnesota all-time series, the Gophers lead 36-20-2. Ohio State took a match at the 2025 National Duals earlier this season, 29-6. The Buckeyes have won six of the last seven meetings.
- Against Nebraska, Ohio State also earned a win over the Huskers at the National Duals, 33-3. The Huskers lead the all-time series, 10-6. The Buckeyes are 4-2 in the last six meetings. Â
- At the Midlands Championships in late December, Ohio State won titles at 165 (e'Than Birden) and 197 (Seth Shumate) while Vinny Kilkeary (125) and Maddox Shaw (149) found the podium in seventh-place. Coupled with a win in the dual vs. Indiana, Birden was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week for his efforts.Â
- The Buckeyes traveled to Nashville Dec. 21 to take part in the 2025 Journeymen Collegiate Duals. Ohio State faced Little Rock (W, 34-9) and No. 3 Iowa State (W, 21-13) and improved to 10-0 in duals.Â
- Ohio State took part at the event last year and collected three dual victories. The Buckeyes defeated No. 21 North Carolina (23-11), Lock Haven (36-6) and No. 14 Iowa State (29-10).
- No. 2 Ohio State handled No. 9 NC State in Columbus with a 26-10 victory. No. 1 Jesse Mendez put the Buckeyes up for good with a 21-6 win at 141. Ohio State won seven of the final nine bouts, including a No. 5 Carson Kharchla victory (D, 8-4) over No. 3 Matthew Singleton at 174 to secure the win. Â Â
- Kharchla's win earned him the Big Ten Wrestler of the Week award. He did not allow a takedown in the win.Â
- Ohio State cruised through the 2025 National Duals Invitational Nov. 15-16 with four team-dual victories on its way to the event title and a check for $200,000. The Buckeyes defeated Wyoming, No. 10 Minnesota, No. 2 Nebraska and No. 3 Iowa for the title. Ohio State went 20-0 at 125, 133, 141, 149 and 157 while losing just five total matches over the two-days.Â
