Spring Slate Begins at Michigan Invitational

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The No. 13 Ohio State women's tennis team is heading to Ann Arbor, Mich., for the Michigan Invitational Friday through Sunday. Ohio State will be joined by the host No. 7 Wolverines, Old Dominion and Xavier in the event. There is no team scoring, with players competing as individuals in singles and doubles.Â
Each team will play three rounds of doubles and three rounds of singles. There will be up to eight flights in singles and four flights in doubles per round. Each team will play one round of singles and one round of doubles per day. The third set will be played to completion in singles.

In the Rankings
In the singles rankings released following the fall, four Buckeyes were ranked in singles, with two ranked doubles teams. Luciana Perry is No. 10 in singles, with Teah Chavez No. 14, Nao Nishino No. 68 and Sophia Cisse-Ignative No. 91. Perry and Chavez are ranked 29th in doubles and the tandem of Audrey Spencer and Nishino is 65th.Â
Dual Season Up Next
Ohio State will serve as an ITA Kickoff Weekend site next weekend. On Saturday, Jan. 24, the Buckeyes will face Iowa in the first round at 10 a.m., followed by a match between Georgia Tech and UC Santa Barbara at 1 p.m. On Sunday, Jan. 25, the consolation match will be at 9 a.m., with the championship slated for noon. The site winner will advance to the ITA National Team Indoor Championship, set for Feb. 6-9 in Evanston and Champaign, Ill. All Columbus matches will be held in the Ty Tucker Tennis Center, with free admission and parking.Â
