COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The No. 13 Ohio State women's tennis team closed out its individual tournament schedule with the Michigan Invitational over the weekend in Ann Arbor, Mich. Ohio State was joined by the host No. 7 Wolverines, Old Dominion and Xavier. Each team played three rounds of doubles and three rounds of singles over the three days.

Nao Nishino and Audrey Spencer both posted 3-0 marks in singles to lead the Buckeyes. Alessia Cau, Teah Chavez, Sophia Cisse-Ignatiev and Luciana Perry all picked up two singles wins. In doubles, the tandems of Chavez and Oluwadare and Cau and Perry were both 3-0 and Nishino was part of three doubles wins.

Friday

The Buckeyes were 5-3 in singles, taking on seven players from Old Dominion and one Wolverine. Sophia Cisse-Ignatiev, Luciana Perry, Nao Nishino and Audrey Spencer all won in straight sets, with Teah Chavez rallying for a three-set victory. Ohio State posted a combined 3-1 doubles ledger against Michigan. The tandems of Hephzibah Oluwadare/Chavez, Perry/Alessia Cau and Nishino/Megan Basil all picked up victories.

Saturday
Ohio State won eight of nine matches against Xavier and swept three doubles victories against Old Dominion, including two ranked wins. The duo of Flora Johnson and Nao Nishino rolled to a 6-2 win over the No. 20 ranked team and Teah Chavez and Hephzibah Oluwadare were 7-5 winners against the No. 66-ranked duo and Luciana Perry and Alessia Cau notched a 7-5 victory. In singles, Perry, Chavez, Nishino, Audrey Spencer, Sophia Cisse-Ignatiev, Oluwadare, Cau and Johnson all won in straight sets.

Sunday
The Buckeyes and Wolverines faced off in singles Sunday. Nao Nishino and Audrey Spencer both won in straight sets in singles, with Alessia Cau picking up a victory in a match tiebreaker. In doubles, Ohio State was 4-0 vs. Xavier. Sophia Cisse-Ignatiev and Megan Basil, Luciana Perry and Cau, Teah Chavez and Oluwadare and Spencer and Nishino all posted wins, with the duos of Perry/Cau and Chavez/Oluwadare both prevailing in a tiebreak.

Dual Season Up Next
Ohio State will serve as an ITA Kickoff Weekend site next weekend. Saturday, the Buckeyes will face Iowa in the first round at 10 a.m., followed by a match between Georgia Tech and UC Santa Barbara at 1 p.m. Sunday, the consolation match will be at 9 a.m., with the championship slated for noon. The site winner will advance to the ITA National Team Indoor Championship, set for Feb. 6-9 in Evanston and Champaign, Ill. All Columbus matches will be held in the Ty Tucker Tennis Center, with free admission and parking.
