- Men's sophomore Weston Day and women's senior Aniya Mosley were selected Big Ten Players to Watch heading into the season. Mosley earned All-Big Ten and All-Great Lakes Region accolades last season after finishing eighth at both meets and secured an individual berth into the NCAA Championships. In his first collegiate season, Day raced in all six events in 2024 and finished 26th at the NCAA regionals, one spot out of all-region recognition.
- The women's squad returns 11 runners from last year's squad, including five – Mosley, Katie Castelli, Tedora Iovi, Zoee Lehman and Sydney Paul – who ran at the 2024 NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championships. Five newcomers join the program – Chloe Dostal, Olivia Holbrook, Layla Jordan, Allie Kosper and Sydney Stevenson.
- For the men, nine returnees are back from 2024, including Day, Liam Shaughnessy, Kevin Agnew, Colby Adams and Jack Agnew, who all ran at regionals last year. Freshmen Chance Basilone, Andrew Rohde and Zach Zielke join the program, along with junior transfer Noah Sharp.
- This is the third time in four years the Buckeyes are starting the season at the Wright State meet. The Buckeye men's and women's squads won the team titles in 2022 and '23.
- Next week, the Buckeyes will travel to East Lansing, Mich., for the Spartan Invite/B1G Preview. Michigan State will host the Big Ten Championships Oct. 31.
- The other regular season meets are at Missouri Sept. 26 and at Texas A&M Oct. 17.
- The NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championships will be held in Evansville, Ind., Nov. 14 and the NCAA Championships will be in Columbia, Mo., Nov. 22.
