Women claim team title, men finish second
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men's and women's cross country teams kicked off the 2025 slate at the Mike Baumer XC Classic hosted by Wright State at Fairborn Community Lower Park in Fairborn, Ohio, Friday evening.
The Buckeye women were first as a team, while the men were second. Both squads had all five counters finish in the Top 10. Mia Robillard and Kevin Agnew both notched second-place finishes to lead the Scarlet and Gray.

The Buckeye Women
- The women totaled 18 points to capture the team title.
- Four Buckeyes finished in the Top 5, behind only an unattached runner. Mia Robillard was second, followed by Teodora Iovi, Zoee Lehman and Ana Karmol. Sydney Stevenson was the final Buckeye counter, finishing ninth.
- Allie Kopser, Hailey Kahl and Chloe Dostal all were in the Top 20 and Emmi Von Scherr, Layla Jordan and Olivia Holbrook wrapped up the Buckeye lineup.
- Robillard set a PR that was nearly two minutes faster than her 5K mark last season and Iovi ran more than a minute better than her previous best.
- Lehman, Karmol, Kahl and Von Scherr also ran their personal bests, with Kahl improving by more than a minute.
- The race marked the first collegiate action for freshmen Stevenson, Kopser, Dostal, Jordan and Holbrook.
- Ohio State had five men in the Top 10 and finished second as a team with 34 points, behind only No. 15-ranked Butler (21 points).
- Kevin Agnew was the runner-up, just a tenth of a second behind the race winner from Butler.
- Connor Long finished sixth, followed a second later by Weston Day in seventh.
- Colby Adams and Noah Sharp were ninth and 10th, respectively, to close out the Buckeye counters.
- Liam Shaughnessy and Chance Basilone both finished in the Top 15.
- Andrew Rohde, Zach Zielke, Colin Cernansky and Will McGraw wrapped up the Buckeyes in the race.
- Agnew, Adams, Shaughnessy and McGraw all posted their collegiate best times for a 5K, breaking their marks set at the Mike Baumer race in 2023.
- Agnew improved his personal best time by more than 20 seconds.
- Sharp, a junior transfer, made his Ohio State debut, along with sophomore Colin Cernansky and true freshmen Basilone, Rhode and Zielke.
- The race was the first collegiate 5K for Long and Day.
