COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s golf team will play its third of four fall events this week at the Windon Memorial Classic at the Knollwood Club in Lake Forest, Ill. The 54-hole event will start with a 9:30 a.m. ET shotgun start on Monday and the final round will begin with tee times at 9 a.m. ET on Tuesday.
- Ohio State’s lineup this week will Tyler Sabo, Vaughn Harber, Joe Wilson IV, Giedrius Mackelis, Timotej Formanek.
- The Buckeyes are using the same scoring five as the last time out at the Bearcat Invitational in which they finished sixth in the 18-team field.
- Sabo and Harber led the team in Cincinnati as each finished under-par and in the Top 15. Sabo carded rounds of 72-68-71 to finish at 2-under while Harber posted a bogey-free 67 in the final round to finish at 1-under par.
- Sabo has had all six of his rounds this season count towards the team scoring and he is averaging 71.83. He also leads the team with 22 birdies.
- Harber made 11 birdies in his season debut in Cincinnati and posted the fifth Top 20 of his young career.
- Wilson IV posted three steady rounds of 73-72-73 at the Bearcat and is averaging 73.67 through six rounds.
- Mackelis, a freshman from Vilnius, Lithuania, made his debut in Cincinnati and finished at 9-over par following rounds of 72-74-76.
- The weather looks ideal this week in Lake Forest, with temperatures around 80 and very little chance of rain.
