COLUMBUS, Ohio – After wrapping a three-match homestand, No. 23 Ohio State heads out on the road this weekend to start a stretch of three consecutive road matches, beginning with Northwestern on Thursday night.Â
- The Buckeyes have shutout their last five opponents which is tied for the second-longest match streak in program history behind a six-match streak in 2017.Â
- Ohio State has not allowed a goal since late in the first half against Princeton on Aug. 28. That spans 498:16 of game action, which is the third-longest stretch in program history.Â
- The three goals allowed through the first nine matches are the fewest in the first nine matches of a season in program history.Â
- The current three-match draw streak is the longest in program history and is also the first time the Buckeyes have had consecutive scoreless draws.Â
- The Buckeyes are tied for seventh nationally in goals-against-average at 0.333. Goalkeeper Molly Pritchard has started every game this season and is coming off a season-high seven stops vs. Nebraska on Sunday. She has been involved in 23 shutouts in her career.Â
Scouting NorthwesternÂ
- Ohio State leads the series 14-5-3 against Northwestern.Â
- The largest victory of either side in recent history was OSU's 6-1 win in October 2013.Â
- NU enters this match unbeaten in its last seven games, shutting out opponents in the first half in five straight contests, and boasts five clean sheets this season behind freshman keeper Nyamma Nelson.Â
- The Wildcats, like Ohio State, have played to three straight draws.Â
Scouting Illinois Â
- Ohio State leads the all-time series 11-5-4, including a 6-1-3 record in the last 10 matchups.Â
- OSU recorded a 7-0 win over Illinois in 2017, the largest in series history.Â
- Illinois (8-1-1, 1-1-1 Big Ten) dropped its first match of the season Sunday at Washington, 2-1, after giving up an early own goal and conceding again in the second half.Â
- Senior forward Cayla Jackson leads the attack, scoring her fourth goal of the year against the Huskies.Â
- The Buckeyes and Illini share a common non-conference opponent as both won at Kentucky earlier in the year. Illinois won 2-1 and Ohio State won 2-0. Â
