COLUMBUS, Ohio – No. 22 Ohio State and Nebraska clashed in a gritty Big Ten battle Sunday afternoon at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium, with both sides trading chances, but neither able to break through in a scoreless draw.
The Buckeyes, now 4-1-4 overall and 0-0-3 in Big Ten play, remain undefeated and have not conceded a goal in 498:16 minutes of action.
Goalkeeper Molly Pritchard once again proved vital for Ohio State, making a series of strong stops to keep Nebraska off the board. She came up especially big in the 88th minute, denying a point-blank shot from Reagan Raabe to preserve the clean sheet in one of the game’s defining moments.
The Buckeyes were active offensively, generating looks throughout the afternoon. Elle Britt fired a late shot just wide in the 90th minute, while Callie Tumilty forced multiple saves earlier in the match. Sophia Louder nearly put Ohio State ahead in the first half when her strike rattled the woodwork, and Natalie Garcia and Netta-Nina Hiltunen tested Nebraska keeper Cece Villa in the second half.
Both coaches leaned on substitutions to keep legs fresh, with Ohio State rotating in bench players Anika Poremba, Riley Lijewski, and Maliyah Morrison.
Despite flurries of late action from both sides — capped by Britt’s last-minute attempt for Ohio State and Raabe’s critical save denied by Pritchard — the defenses held, and the Buckeyes walked away with a hard-fought draw.
This was the third consecutive scoreless draw for the Buckeyes, the longest streak in program history.
