Ohio State Hosts Virginia and Troy for Sports Imports Classic

The Buckeyes will play Friday and Sunday, while the Cavaliers and Trojans will face each other on Saturday.
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women's volleyball team (2-4) hosts Virginia (5-3) and Troy (2-4) for the Sports Imports Classic this weekend. Ohio State and Virginia will play on Friday at 5 p.m. Virginia and Troy will play on Saturday at 3 p.m. Ohio State and Troy will play on Sunday at 1 p.m. All matches will be broadcast live on B1G+.
Parking is free to all home matches in the lots across the street from the Covelli Center. This weekend is youth weekend with the first 100 kids (12 and under) on Friday receiving an Ohio State tote bag and the first 250 kids (12 and under) on Sunday receiving an Ohio State hair clip. On Sunday, the Buckeyes will host a block party (weather permitting) in partnership with women's soccer from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the block between the Covelli Center and Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. The block party will feature food trucks, face painting, inflatables and more. The Buckeyes will stick around after Sunday's match for a meet and greet on the concourse.

- Ohio State split its matches last weekend at the Beavercreek Invitational, hosted by Wright State. The Buckeyes swept Ohio (25-16, 25-19, 26-24) before falling to Wright State in a marathon five sets (22-25, 27-25, 31-33, 25-21, 11-15).
- Against the Bobcats, Reese Wuebker had more than double any other player with a then career-high 18 kills. Olivia Hasbrook led the matchh with 17 digs.
- Against the Raiders, Wuebker posted career-highs in kills (21), digs (19) and points (22.5). Hannah Jones had a career-high 10 digs for her first career double-double. Mia Tuman tied her career-highs in assists (58), blocks (6) and kills (4). Hasbrook totaled a career-high 23 digs. Kaia Castle finished with a career-high 10 blocks. Ashley Carr tallied a career-high 11 kills.
- Virginia enters the match with a 5-3 record this season after splitting a pair of matches against Michigan last weekend. Previous Cavalier wins include Georgetown, George Washington, Howard and VCU. Additional Virginia losses include Auburn and Appalachian State.
- There are four players on Virginia's offense averaging at least 2.00 kills/set with Lauryn Bowie's 2.43 kills/set leading the way.
- Virginia also has four players averaging at least 2.00 digs/set. Katie Barrier leads the team with 2.97 digs/set. Jasmine Robinson's 0.97 blocks/set leads the team.
- Ohio State won the only previous matchup with Virginia, winning in straight sets (25-16, 25-17, 25-18) on Sept. 11, 2021 at a neutral site.
- This is the first meeting between the teams in Columbus.
- Troy enters the weekend with a 2-4 record and will face Virginia on Saturday at 3 p.m. prior to playing Ohio State. Troy's wins came against Jackson State and Mercer. The Trojans have lost to Georgia, Samford, Auburn and Kennesaw State.
- Amiah Butler paces the Troy offense with 4.78 kills/set, while Jaci Mesa leads the defense with 3.29 digs/set.
- This is the first meeting between Ohio State and Troy.
