COLUMBUS, Ohio – 16 Ohio State swimmers are in Indianapolis to compete in the 2025 Toyota National Championships June 3-7 in pursuit of a spot on Team USA for the World Championships in Singapore later this summer.
100 Free
100 Free
- Evan Fentress advanced to the C final of the men's 100 free after swimming a time of 49.68 in prelims. He placed eighth in finals with a time of 50.27.
- In prelims, Daniel Baltes swam a time of 49.92 and incoming Buckeye Mason Francis swam a time of 52.14.
- In the women's 100 free, Rachel Bockrath swam a time of career-best time of 55.48 in prelims.
- Mila Nikanorov earned a fifth-place finish in the 800 free with a program record and career-best time of 8:32.64. The previous record of 8:35.94 was set by Molly Kowal in 2018.
- Mason Edmund placed 17th with a time of 8:06.03.
- Charlie Clark placed 13th in the 1500 free with a time of 15:27.20. Edmund finished just behind Clark, placing 14th with a time of 15:27.93.
- Nikanorov placed eighth in the 1500 free with a career-best time of 16:26.67.
- Danika Varda swam a time of 2:37.22 in prelims.
- Luke Vickers qualified for the C final after swimming a time of 2:15.33 in prelims. He placed fourth in his final with a time of 2:15.23.
- Karl Helmuth finished in 2:16.63 in prelims.
- Krista Marlin qualified for the B final of the 200 back after swimming a time of 2:11.64 during prelims. She finished fourth in the B final, finishing in 2:10.98, just short of the program record of 2:10.96 she set in 2024.
- Matt Klinge swam a career-best time of 24.02 in prelims to qualify for the B final. Klinge won the B final, setting a new career-best time of 23.66.
- Fentress finished in 24.55 during prelims.
- Marlin advanced to the B final of the 400 IM after swimming a time of 4:48.91 in prelims. She finished eighth in finals with a time of 4:48.86.
- Jessica Eden earned a spot as a reserve for finals after finishing in 4:52.77 in prelims. Eden wound up swimming in the C final; she placed seventh with a time of 4:53.56.
- Paige Delma finished in a career-best 4:53.54 in prelims.
- TJ Frost swam a time of 4:24.09 in prelims to qualify for the men's C final. He finished fifth in the C final with a time of 4:24.37.
- Klinge qualified for the 100 fly A final after turning in a career-best time of 52.11 during prelims. He placed seventh in finals with a time of 52.15.
- Evan Fentress served as a reserve for finals after finishing in 53.51 in prelims.
- A time of 31.51 for Hannah Bach in prelims earned her a spot in the 50 breast B final. She placed fourth in finals, finishing in 31.60.
- Marlin swam a time of 29.80 in prelims.
- Nikanorov advanced to the A final of the 400 free after swimming a career-best time of 4:11.39 in prelims. She set a new career-best of 4:11.36 in finals and placed seventh.
- Clark (3:56.18) and Edmund (3:56.34) qualified for the C final. Frost (3:56.50) qualified as a reserve and also wound up swimming in the C final. Edmund was the winner of the C final, finishing in a career-best time of 3:52.51. Clark finished sixth with a time of 3:57.56 and Frost finished eighth with a time of 4:03.45.
- Bach qualified for the C final of the 100 breast after finishing in 1:10.63 in prelims. She placed sixth in the C final with a time of 1:11.14.
- Helmuth advanced to the C final; he swam a time of 1:02.33 in prelims. He placed seventh in his final with a time of 1:02.43.
- Marlin swam a time of 1:02.84 in prelims.
- Delma swam a career-best time of 2:17.38 in prelims to qualify for finals. She placed eighth in the C final with a time of 2:17.74.
- Marlin served as a reserve for finals after swimming a time of 2:18.28 in prelims.
- Bockrath finished in a career-best time of 25.65 in prelims to advance to the C final. She finished fourth in her final with a time of 25.67.
- Baltes turned in a career-best time of 22.09 in prelims to qualify for the A final. He placed eighth overall with a time of 22.19.
- A career-best time of 22.47 for Klinge in prelims moved him onto the B final, where he placed fifth with a new career-best time of 22.38.
- Fentress swam a time of 22.94 and Francis swam a career-best time of 23.29 in prelims.
