COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 2 Ohio State men's lacrosse team opens the 2025 Division I Men's Lacrosse NCAA Tournament this weekend in Columbus against No. 10 Notre Dame. The No. 4 seed Buckeyes (14-2, 4-1 B1G) and Fighting Irish (8-4, 3-1 ACC) face off in the First Round matchup noon Sunday, May 11 at Ohio State Lacrosse Stadium.

Buckeyes In a Nutshell
- Ohio State is back in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2022. Sunday marks the team's fifth tournament appearance under head coach Nick Myers. Â
- The team earned the automatic qualification to the tournament by winning the Big Ten Tournament for the first in program history. Ohio State defeated Rutgers, 11-7, in the tournament semifinals before earning the 14-10 win over Maryland in the program's third championship game appearance.
- With the win over the Terrapins last weekend, the Buckeyes defeated all four teams from last year's NCAA semifinals - Denver, Maryland, Notre Dame and Virginia.
- Ohio State is ranked second in the media and coaches' polls this week. The ranking ties the program high, which was reached earlier this season. The Buckeyes started the season unranked and now have been ranked for the last 11 weeks and top 10 for the last nine.
- Sunday marks the first time Ohio State Lacrosse Stadium will play host to an NCAA Tournament matchup.
- The team is among the top 10 programs in the country in scoring defense (8.75), scoring margin (+3.94) and shot percentage (.327). Cullen Brown is fifth nationally with 2.06 caused turnovers per game and Caleb Fyock boasts the best save percentage in the country (.620) and second-best goals-against average (7.72).
- The team is led in scoring by Alex Marinier with 46 goals and 48 points. Griffin Turner leads the team with 17 assists on the year. The Buckeyes have 11 players with over 10 goals this season.
- Last weekend marked two major milestones for 12 members of the 2025 senior class. In addition to winning the conference tournament last Saturday, the group earned their degrees at spring commencement on Sunday. The graduates are Ari Allen, Henry Blake, Dante Bowen, Mason Bregman, Taji Flynn, Braden Glushakow, Greg Langermeier, Alex Marinier, Shane O'Leary, Ed Shean, Griffin Turner and Bobby Van Buren.
- USA Lacrosse announced its 2025 Division I men's All-Americans Thursday and five Buckeyes garnered the distinction.
- Van Buren and Fyock were named first team honorees and Brown, Langermeier and Marinier earned honorable mention nods.
- The All-America honor is the first of Brown, Fyock, Langermeier and Marinier's respective careers. Van Buren has earned honorable mention All-America awards twice before.

- Ohio State is 25-37 in the all-time series vs. the Fighting Irish that started in 1964.
- The teams were original members of the Great Western Lacrosse League (GWLL) starting in 1994 and the team's faced off as conference opponents until 2008.
- Ohio State won the regular season meeting between the teams, 10-9, on March 8. Shane O'Leary scored the Buckeyes' game-winning goal with seven seconds on the clock to give the team its seventh straight win in its first road test of the year.
- The Buckeyes are 4-2 against the Fighting Irish since 2019.
- Sunday marks the first time the teams will meet in the NCAA Tournament. Notre Dame comes to Columbus as the two-time defending national champion.
