
Buckeye Men Win 4x400m Relay Title on Final Day of Big Ten Championships

The Buckeyes secured 14 personal records in total to wrap up championship weekend.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State track and field program concluded three days of competition at the 2025 Big Ten Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Ore. on Sunday. The Buckeyes won the men's 4x400m relay championship, had 14 personal record breaks and six top five finishes.
The men's 4x400m relay team consisting of Noah Carmichael, Mason Louis, Braxton Brann and Edidiong Udo became champions with a season-best time of 3:04.08. The group earned their spot on the All-Big Ten First Team and Udo was named to the All-Big Ten Freshmen Team. The 4x400m relay squad had this to say about winning the Big Ten title.
DJ Fillmore earned his place on the All-Big Ten Second Team after finishing as the runner-up in the men's long jump. He recorded a new PR distance of 7.68m/25'2.50".
Leah Bertrand, Bobbi Olive, Fatuma Conde and Janela Spencer ran a season best 43.84 seconds in the women's 4x100m relay, placing third. Udo, competing in the men's 400m finals, also placed third with a time of 45.78 seconds.
Bertrand came in fourth in the women's 100m finals with her second-best time of the season (11.20 seconds). The Buckeye men's 4x100m relay team of Brann, Denzell Feagin, Nick Biega and Fillmore recorded a fifth-place time of 39.64 seconds, rounding out the Buckeyes' top five finishes.
Olivia Powell hit a new PR of 13.48 seconds, finishing eighth in the 100m hurdles prelims – the first of the Buckeyes' 14 PR's broken this weekend. Sophie Bidwell had a personal record of 48.76m/160' in the women's discus throw. Carina Napoleon recorded PR's in both the women's 800m (2:07.61) and the women's 1500m (4:21.26, 13th in the prelims). Zamesha Myle placed 13th in the women's long jump with a new PR of 5.83m/19'1.5". Katie Castelli set a personal record (10:15.78) in the women's 3000m steeplechase, placing 10th. In the women's hammer throw, Morgan Hallett set a new personal record of 52.06m/170'9". Nazzio John, Marcus Brown and Brann all competed in the men's 200m prelims, each hitting a new PR. John placed 10th (20.84), Brown, 11th (20.86) and Brann rounded out the group with the 16th best time (20.99). Lacey Stringer set a PR in the women's shot put after placing sixth with a distance of 17.31m/56'9.5". In the men's 5000m, Kevin Agnew led the Buckeyes with a new personal record of 14:20.01. Teodora Iovi set a new PR (16:37.62) in the women's 5000m.

- Women's triple jump: Sydnee Burr had the 10th best distance of 12.49m/40'11.75" and knapMyle placed 14th with a distance of 12.36m/40'6.75".
- Men's discus throw: Tanner Watson finished sixth overall (57.15m/187'6"), collecting three points. Jack Knapke (51.22m/168') and Lawson Maag (46.71m/153'3") also competed.
- Women's high jump: Amaya Ugarte had the ninth-best jump, clearing 1.75m/5'8.75".
- Women's shot put: Stringer earned three points on a new PR, placing sixth with a distance of 17.31m/56'9.5".

- Men's long jump: Fillmore gained eight points for the Buckeye men after placing second and recording a new PR distance of 7.68m/25'2.50".
- Men's high jump: Devin Jordan tied for 10th in the event, clearing a height of 2.01m/6'7".
- Women's long jump: Burr had the ninth-best distance of 6.06m/19'10.75" and Myle placed 13th with a new PR of 5.83m/19'1.5".
- Women's discus throw: Hallett placed 11th (50.13m/164'5") and Bidwell, 16th, had a personal record of 48.76m/160'.
Friday, May 16
- Men's hammer throw: Maag (50.43m/165'5") and Knapke (49.78m/163'4") finished in back-to-back places.
- Men's pole vault: Daniel Edwards recorded his second-highest height clearance of the season (5.09m/16'8.25").
- Women's hammer throw: Stringer placed 11th with a best throw of 58.87m/193'1" and Hallett set a new personal record of 52.06m/170'9" (previously 50.24m/164'10", 2025 Raleigh Relays).

- Men's 4x100 relay: A team of Brann, Feagin, Biega and Fillmore earned four points with their fifth-place time of 39.64 seconds.
- Women's 4x100 relay: Bertrand, Olive, Conde and Spencer ran a season best 43.84 seconds in the women's 4x100m relay to place third and earn six points for the Buckeye women.
- Men's 110m hurdles finals: Brann gained two points after finishing seventh with a time of 13.98 seconds.
- Women's 100m hurdles finals: Spencer finished sixth (three points, 13.37) and Powell placed eighth (one point, 13.52).
- Men's 400m finals: Udo placed third with a time of 45.78 seconds, earning six points.
- Women's 100m finals: Bertrand came in fourth place with her second-best time of the season (11.20 seconds), earning five points.
- Women's 200m finals: Bertrand earned two points in the women's 200m final after she placed seventh with a time of 23.36 seconds.
- Men's 5000m: Kevin Agnew led the Buckeyes with a new personal record of 14:20.01. Jack Agnew (14:35.07) and Zubin Jha (14:40.35) also competed.
- Women's 5000m: Iovi set a new PR (16:37.62).
- Men's 4x400 relay: Carmichael, Louis, Brann and Udo were named champions after running a season best 3:04.08, earning 10 points.
- Women's 4x400 relay: Conde, Michaela McCall, Powell and Adylin Armstrong finished ninth with a season best time of 3:38.48.
Saturday, May 17
- Men's 400m prelims: Udo won the preliminary round with a time of 45.89 seconds, earning a spot in the finals round tomorrow. Carmichael also competed, placing 10th with a time of 46.78 seconds.
- Women's 400m prelims: In the women's 400m, McCall (53.47) placed 10th and Armstrong finished in 57.37 seconds.
- Men's 100m prelims: Feagin (10.43, 14th), John (10.60, 19th) and Brown (11.49, 29th) all competed.
- Women's 100m prelims: Bertrand won her heat (11.41), qualifying for the finals round tomorrow. Conde (11.65, 14th) and Olive (11.91, 21st) also ran in the event.
- Men's 110m hurdles prelims: Brann had the sixth-best time (13.66) and qualified for the finals.
- Women's 100m hurdles prelims: Spencer had the third-best time of 13.16 seconds, qualifying for the finals. Powell hit a new PR of 13.48 seconds, finishing eighth and Katie Ruffener had a time of 14.18 seconds.
- Men's 800m prelims: Alex Kenish (1:50.38) and Jaxon Eckert (1:52.59) each set season bests.
- Women's 800m prelims: Aniya Mosley set a season best time of 2:06.34, placing 11th. Napoleon recorded a personal best of 2:07.61 (15th) and Amelia Figler finished in 2:09.19.
- Men's 3000m steeplechase: Sean Carney finished the men's 3000m steeplechase with a time of 9:21.15.
- Women's 3000m steeplechase: Castelli set a personal record (10:15.78), placing 10th. Zoee Lehman (10:39.99) and Akemi Von Scherr (10:51.24) also competed.
Friday, May 16
- Men's 200m prelims: John, Brown and Brann all hit a new PR. John placed 10th (20.84), Brown, 11th (20.86), Biega finished 14th (20.91) and Brann rounded out the group with the 16th best time (20.99).
- Women's 200m prelims: Bertrand qualified for the finals with the sixth-fastest time of 22.99 seconds (season best), just 0.01 seconds off her PR from last season's Big Ten Outdoor Championships. Conde placed 12th with a time of 23.49 seconds.
- Women's 1500m prelims: Napoleon set a new PR of 4:21.26, placing 13th.
- Men's 10000m: Weston Day finished 13th (29:40.08) and Liam Shaughnessy had a time of 30:51.55.
UP NEXT
Ohio State will have next weekend off with the NCAA East First Round beginning on Wednesday, May 28 in Jacksonville, Fla. More information will be announced closer to the meet.
