
Four Under-par Rounds Has Buckeyes 1-off the Lead at NGI

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State had four under-par rounds and carded a 10-uncer 278 in the opening round of the National Golf Invitational at the Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club in Maricopa, Ariz.
The Buckeyes are in second place in the 10-team field, just one shot behind Utah State after 18 holes.
Redshirt-sophomore Tyler Sabo birdied five of his last seven holes to post a 4-under 68. He is tied for fifth heading into the second round.
Joe Wilson IV, Vaughn Harber and Timotej Formanek all posted rounds of 2-under 70 and are tied for 10th. Harber matched Sabo with seven birdies on the round. Wilson IV had five birdies and Formanek made four birdies and just two bogeys.
Jack Vojtko rounded out the lineup with a 2-over 74.
The Buckeyes will be in the final pairing out on Saturday with Utah State beginning at 12:40 p.m. ET.
