Pakele and Nelson Earn Big Ten Individual Event Championships

Ohio State was the only team to have more than one event winner on Saturday night.
ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The No. 6 Ohio State men's gymnastics team (9-8, 1-3 B1G) had six gymnasts compete in the individual event finals in seven events at the 2025 Big Ten Championships. Ohio State was the lone team to capture more than one individual event title on Saturday evening.
Jesse Pakele won the Big Ten floor title with a score of 14.075, sticking every pass of his routine. He earned a spot on the All-Big Ten First Team – the first Big Ten Championships honor of his career. Pakele is the first Buckeye since Sean Melton in 2016 to claim the Big Ten floor title.
Kameron Nelson earned the second Big Ten vault title of his career with a season-best score of 14.850 for a spot on the All-Big Ten First Team. He previously took the title in 2022 before finishing third in 2023 and second in 2024.
Parker Thackston was the runner-up on pommel horse (14.625), scoring 0.825 more than the third-place finisher. This is the second consecutive season that Thackston has been the Big Ten pommel horse runner-up and on the All-Big Ten Second Team.
