Buckeyes Drop Close Game at No. 9 Maryland, 8-5

Torres makes 12 saves for Ohio State
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women's lacrosse fell on the road to No. 9 Maryland, 8-5, Sunday afternoon in College Park, Md. Ohio State is now 8-5 on the year (1-6 B1G) and the Terps are 10-4 (5-1 B1G).

Maryland led 2-1 after the first quarter. The teams were tied late in the second but two Terrapin goals in the final 1:26 sent the teams into halftime with Maryland ahead 5-3. The Buckeyes drew within two at 5:25 of the third but the home team responded with two goals in less than a minute and held an 8-4 lead through 45 minutes. Ohio State notched the only goal of the final stanza for the 8-5 final. Goalie Jocelyn Torres made 12 saves in the Buckeye cage and had a team-best six ground balls. Kate Tyack led Ohio State with two goals and Leah Sax had a goal and an assist.
