Henwood Rodriguez Earns MIVA Defensive Player of the Week

Freshman sets career high with 14 digs last time out
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Daniel Henwood Rodriguez, a freshman setter with the Buckeyes, was named the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association Defensive Player of the Week after Ohio State defeated No. 10 McKendree 3-2 March 27 in Columbus.Â
DHR led the Buckeyes with 14 digs against the Bearcats, a career high. He was one of four with 10 or more digs in the match.Â
In addition to the digs total, DHR added five kills, 50 assists, one ace and two blocks against the Bearcats.Â
Ohio State is back in action at 7 p.m. Thursday at home against No. 15 Ball State before the season finale against No. 14 Lewis at the Covelli Center at 5 p.m. Saturday. Ohio State will celebrate its senior day prior to the match with the Flyers this weekend.Â
