COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 2 Ohio State women's hockey team is WCHA Final Faceoff bound with a semifinal matchup against No. 4 Minnesota set for Friday at AMSOIL Arena in Duluth, Minn.
The Buckeyes (27-6-3, 19-6-3 WCHA) and Gophers (27-10-1, 19-8-1 WCHA) face off at 5:30 p.m. in the second semifinal game of the tournament.

Buckeyes in a Nutshell
- Ohio State advanced to the 2025 WCHA Final Faceoff with a sweep of seven seed St. Thomas in the WCHA First Round last weekend at the OSU Ice Rink. The first semifinal will be played Friday at 2 p.m. between No. 1 Wisconsin and host Minnesota Duluth, the four seed in the tournament.
- The team's appearance at this week's Final Faceoff is its eighth consecutive. Ohio State has qualified for the conference semifinal every season except the first of head coach Nadine Muzerall's tenure.
- The Buckeyes swept the series with 2-1 and 3-1 wins. The team is 4-5-0 in postseason play at the arena.
- Joy Dunne continues to lead the Buckeyes with 52 points on the year. She has dished a team-high 29 assists and scored 23 goals in 2024-25. Dunne is seventh nationally with 1.44 points per game. She also ranks top 10 in the country with .64 goals per game and .81 assists per game.
- Jocelyn Amos' 25 goals on the year are a team-high. The mark is a career high for the sophomore and ranks sixth in the program record book for goals in a season. Amos leads the country with 10 power play goals on the year. She has also added a shorthanded goal for the Buckeyes this season.
- Amos is one of the top players nationally at the faceoff dot. With 461 wins, the center leads the conference and is third in the country. Her win percentage is .685.
- Ohio State finished the regular season second in the WCHA with a record of 19-6-3. The top four teams of the final conference standings advanced to the Final Faceoff.
- Emma Peschel was named a finalist for the 2024-25 WCHA Defender of the Year award and Jenna Buglioni is one of three finalists for the 2024-25 WCHA Student-Athlete of the Year honor.
- Seventeen of the team's 18 skaters, and two of four goalies, have recorded a point this year. Sixteen of the 17 have recorded a goal. The Buckeyes are second in the country with 3.89 goals per game.
- The team has four players - Dunne, Amos, Jenna Buglioni (40), Kiara Zanon (32) and Peschel (31) - who have hit the 30-point mark this year.
- In addition to Amos, Dunne and Peschel, Riley Brengman (18) and Sara Swiderski (11) have recorded season-high point totals.
- The Buckeyes only allow their opponents to 18.11 shots per game. Peschel and Swiderski have blocked a team-high 36 shots with Amos (33) and Brengman (34) adding over 30 on the year.
- Graduate goaltender Amanda Thiele leads the goaltending unit with 24 starts in 25 games played this season for Ohio State. She has an 18-5-2 record on the year and has earned a .889 save percentage.
- Dunne and Cayla Barnes ('24) were named to the United States' 25-player roster for the 2025 IIHF Women's World Championships. The tournament will be held April 9-20 in České Budejovice, Czechia. This is Dunne's second time making the world championship and Barnes' sixth.
- Ohio State finished the regular season series 2-1-1 against Minnesota.
- The teams faced off in Minneapolis in their last meeting with the Gophers taking game one, 4-1, and the Buckeyes responding with a 7-3 game two win.
- The last time Ohio State and Minnesota met in the Final Faceoff semifinals was in 2020 with the Buckeyes winning the game 4-3 in overtime and eventually win its first Final Faceoff championship.
- Ohio State is 7-2-1-1-0 vs. Minnesota in the last 10 meetings between the programs.
