DULUTH, Minn. – The No. 2 Ohio State women's hockey team fell in the 2025 WCHA Final Faceoff semifinals to No. 4 Minnesota, 6-2, Friday night at AMSOIL Arena in Duluth, Minn.
The Buckeyes (27-7-3, 19-6-3 WCHA) will continue their postseason in the NCAA tournament and await their seed and opponent, which will be announced during the selection show Sunday at 11:30 a.m. The show will air on ESPNU and ESPN+.
Short Story
Ohio State took an early lead in the game with Jocelyn Amos scoring on the first shot of the contest. Her goal came at 2:04 in the first period off assists from Joy Dunne and Emma Peschel. Dunne added her second point of the game and gave the Buckeyes the 2-0 with a goal at 9:23. She was assisted by Makenna Webster and Sara Swiderski.
Minnesota scored twice on the power play in the final six minutes of the opening frame to even the game at two goals apiece at the first intermission. The Gophers scored twice each of the next two periods to come away with the 6-2 win.
