Jankovics Wins Silver in 400 IM, Sets Program Record

COLUMBUS, Ohio – It was an exciting night at the NCAA Championships for the No. 13 Ohio State men's swimming and diving team as Tristan Jankovics won silver in the 400 IM.
Jankovics broke his own previously held program record of 3:35.51 with a time of 3:34.98 in the 400 IM championship final. His second-place finish earns him First Team All-American honors.
In the consolation final of the 200 free, Tomas Navikonis placed seventh with a time of 1:32.42 to earn Honorable Mention All-American honors.
Clayton Chaplin took on the championship final of the 3-meter dive. He placed eighth with an aggregate score of 383.60 to earn First Team All-American recognition.
The Buckeyes closed out the night with the 400 medley relay. The team of Cornelius Jahn, Karl Helmuth, Matt Klinge and Ahmed Ismail finished in 3:05.91 to place 24th.
Going into the final day of competition on Saturday, the Buckeyes are tied with Alabama for 11th place with 68 points.
The NCAA Championships conclude on Saturday, March 29 in Federal Way, Wash. Prelims will begin at 1:00 p.m. ET and finals will get underway at 9:00 p.m. ET.
