COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State sophomores Ava Bramblett and Amanda Schlueter have been called up to a U.S. Under-20 Women’s National Team training camp to be held from March 31-April 7 in Kansas City, Mo.
The camp, which is being held at Kansas City Current’s University of Kansas Health System Training Center, features 22 college players and two professionals.
Schlueter had a record-setting season this past fall, tying the program’s single-season record with a Big Ten leading 12 assists. She had a hand in all four goals of the win at Navy, assisting on two and scoring two. She also tied the single-game record with three assists in the 3-0 win over Maryland. Down the stretch, Schlueter played some of her best soccer, registering at least a point in four of her final five matches, including scoring goals in NCAA Tournament wins over James Madison and Auburn.
Bramblett was an anchor for one of the top back lines in the country. The Buckeye defense surrendered more than one goal in a game just three times all season and recorded seven total shutouts. Bramblett scored three goals on the year and had perhaps the team’s most thrilling goal of the year, scoring the game-winner in the final minute of the 2-1 win over Northwestern.
Both Schlueter and Bramblett were All-Big Ten and United Soccer Coaches All-North Region honorees this past season.
