COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State track & field program concluded the dual-meet weekend, collecting three wins and breaking eight personal records.
SATURDAY'S RECAP
Nazzio John won the men's 100m, joining Tanner Watson and Lacey Stringer in wins this weekend. John had a personal best time of 10.14 seconds, beating his previous PR of 10.35 seconds. In the women's high jump, Amaya Ugarte tied for fourth overall with a clearance of 1.78m/05-10.00 on her second attempt. Leah Bertrand, Fatouma Conde, Bobbi Olive and Michaela McCall had the eighth-best time of 1:37.45 in the women's 4x200m relay. Bertrand finished second in the women's 100m (10.94). Her time would've been a new program record if it wasn't wind-aided as Yanique Dayle currently holds the program record with a time of 11.05 seconds. In the women's hammer throw, Stringer had the eighth best performance of 57.85m/189-09.00 and Morgan Hallett set a new personal record of 50.24m/164-10.00). Sydnee Burr recorded a women's triple jump distance of 12.80m/42-00.00 on her first attempt, placing eighth. Conde finished in eighth in the women's 200m with a time of 23.33 seconds.
FRIDAY'S RECAP
Watson joined Stringer with a win this weekend, earning his victory with a season-best throw of 57.57m/188-10.00 in the men's discus. Also in the men's discus, Jack Knapke (10th, 51.47m/168-06.00) and Lawson Maag (20th, 47.27m/155-01.00) each set personal bests. Bertrand qualified for the next round of the women's 100m after winning her heat with the second fastest overall time of 11.34 seconds. Burr recorded the fourth-best distance of 5.77m/18-11.25 in the women's long jump. In the women's 100m hurdles timed section, Katie Ruffener finished sixth overall, clearing her hurdles in 13.90 seconds. With a time of 3:08.79 in the men's 4x400m relay, Noah Carmichael, Edidiong Udo, Denzel Feagin and Nick Biega placed sixth and qualified for the next round. In the women's 1500m, Carina Napoleon set a new personal best after running 4:29.35.
THURSDAY'S RECAP
Stringer won the women's shot put after tossing 16.78m/55-00.75, which she hit in the third round. Kevin Agnew and Colby Adams each set a new outdoor personal record in the men's 5000m. Agnew ran a 14:23.64, roughly a second better than his previous time. Adams on the other hand, tore down his old personal record with a 20-second improvement of 14:38.60.

The Buckeye men will be off next week and will return to action in Gainesville, Fla. at the Tom Jones Invite hosted by the University of Florida on Friday, April 18 and Saturday, April 19. The Buckeye women will compete in Athens, Ohio at Ohio University's Cherry Blossom Invitational on Friday, April 4. - Women's 4x200m relay: Bertrand, Conde, Olive and McCall had the eighth-best time of 1:37.45.
- Women's 100m: Bertrand came in second with a wind-aided time of 10.94 seconds, which was faster than her previous PR (11.08) and the program record (11.05), set by Dayle in 2023.
- Men's 100m: John won in a personal best 10.14 seconds, beating his previous PR of 10.35 seconds.
- Women's 200m: Conde finished in eighth with a time of 23.33 seconds.
Friday
- Women's 4x100m relay: A team of Bertrand, Olive, Conde and Janela Spencer had the 12th fastest time (45.18) among 48 relay squads.
- Men's 4x100m relay: Dominic Calhoun, John, Braxton Brann and Biega collectively ran a 40.28, placing 10th out of 53 entries.
- Men's 110m hurdles: Brann tied for 11th with a time of 13.87 seconds.
- Women's 100m hurdles timed: Ruffener finished sixth overall, clearing her hurdles in 13.90 seconds.
- Men's 110m hurdles: Malik Mixon earned a time of 14.99 seconds.
- Women's 100m: Bertrand qualified for the next round after winning her heat with the second fastest overall time of 11.34 seconds. Olive also competed, having a time of 11.77 seconds.
- Men's 100m: John's 10.35 second performance not only was the eighth best time but also qualified him for the next round.
- Men's 100m timed: Maag had the ninth best time of 10.46 seconds.
- Men's 4x400m relay: With a time of 3:08.79, Carmichael, Udo, Feagin and Biega placed sixth and qualified for the next round.

Saturday
- Men's hammer throw: Knapke threw 55.16m/181-00.00 and Maag tossed a 45.86m/150-05.00, each occurring on their second attempt.
- Women's hammer throw: Stringer had the eighth best performance of 57.85m/189-09.00 and Hallett set a new personal record of 50.24m/164-10.00.
Friday
- Men's discus: Watson earned the win after recording a season best toss of 57.57m/188-10.00. Knapke (10th, 51.47m/168-06.00) and Maag (20th, 47.27m/155-01.00) each set personal bests. Knapke roughly made a two-and-a-half-meter jump from his previous PR of 48.82m/160-02.00, while Maag improved from 46.41m/152-03.00.
- Women's discus: Hallett led the Buckeyes, having the 19th best distance of 43.92m/144-01.00 out of 65 registered athletes. Sophie Bidwell also placed in the top half of competitors, landing 26th with a throw of 43.01m/141-01.00.
Thursday
- Women's shot put: Stringer won the event, launching a distance of 16.78m/55-00.75. Hallett placed 18th out of 59 registered athletes, tossing a 13.78m/45-02.50.
RALEIGH RELAYS TRACK RESULTS
Friday
- Women's 1500m: Napoleon set a new personal best after running 4:29.35. Amelia Figler was the next Buckeye to place, with a time of 4:34.43. Lilly Eckels also competed, recording a time of 4:37.19.
- Women's 3000m steeple: Katie Castelli placed 21st with a time of 10:27.33.
- Women's 5000m: Akemi Von Scherr finished in 17:04.56 and Ana Karmol in 17:19.60.
Thursday
- Men's 5000m: Jack Agnew and Kevin Agnew had similar finishes with Jack Agnew having a 14:21.64 and Kevin Agnew, a 14:23.64. Kevin's time set a personal outdoor record, shaving roughly one second off of his previous record, 14:24.89. Adams also set an outdoor personal record of 14:38.60, shattering his old record of 14:59.03. Zubin Jha rounded out the Buckeye men with a time of 15:06.50.
- Men's 10000m: Weston Day placed 40th out of 128 registered athletes, finishing in 28:52.56. Liam Shaughnessy came in 39th with a time of 29:12.62. Keegan Freyhof landed in 70th after running a 30:25.59.
