
Morgan Frye Named Big Ten Player of the Week

Reached base in 12 of her 13 plate appearances last week
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State's Morgan Frye, a graduate student from Suwanee, Ga., has been named the Big Ten's Player of the Week, the conference office announced this afternoon.
In helping the Buckeyes to five wins last week, Frye hit .900 with six extra base hits (four doubles, two HRs), seven RBI, a 1.900 slugging percentage and .923 on-base percentage. She reached base in 12 of her 13 plate appearances last week, which included a weekend sweep at Michigan State.
Against the Spartans, Frye was 7-for-8 with two home runs and four RBI. She had at least one extra base hit in each game and finished with multiple hits in three of Ohio State's five games.
In 30 games this season, Frye is batting .429 and has driven in 20 runs. Her batting average and slugging percentage (.857) both rank 11th in the conference. In the last 10 games, Frye is batting a team-best .571 and has a .679 on-base percentage.
The 25th-ranked Buckeyes host a pair of midweek games this week, starting tomorrow against Purdue Fort Wayne at 5 p.m. On Wednesday, they'll welcome Akron to Buckeye Field, also at 5 p.m.
