No. 19 Buckeyes Ready for B1G Game vs. No. 21 USC Sunday

Teams will meet in Ohio State Lacrosse Stadium
The Basics
- The No. 19 Ohio State women's lacrosse team returns home to host No. 21 Southern California  in a Big Ten game Sunday.Â
- The teams will face off at noon in Ohio State Lacrosse Stadium. Admission and parking are free.
- Sunday is the program's Our Honor Defend Military Appreciation Game. There will be a 20 percent discount at concessions for military members and veterans, along with kids corner activities (weather permitting) and a postgame meet and greet.
- The Buckeyes are 9-0 on the year, coming off a 22-8 win at San Diego State last Saturday, with a 1-0 Big Ten ledger. Southern California is 7-3 and 0-2 in B1G games.
- Ohio State is 0-2 all-time against Southern California.
- The teams first met in 2017, a 16-7 USC win in Mountain Lakes, N.J.
- In 2023, the Trojans posted an 18-10 victory at home over the Buckeyes.Â
- USC started B1G play with a 17-11 loss at home to Johns Hopkins last Sunday and then fell at Michigan, 11-9, Thursday evening in Ann Arbor.
- The Trojans are eighth in the NCAA in shooting percentage and 18th in scoring offense, averaging 14.6 goals a game. The squad allows 10.3 goals per game.
- USC's Maddie Dora is third in the NCAA in goals (43) and Isabelle Vitale is fourth with 33 assists on the year.
- Ohio State downed San Diego State, 22-8, in the final nonconference game of the regular season last Saturday in San Diego, Calif.Â
- The Buckeyes led 6-1 after the first quarter and 11-4 at the half. Ohio State extended the lead to 17-8 after 45 minutes and then shut out the Aztecs in the fourth, while scoring five goals, for the 22-8 victory.
- Zoe Coleman led the Buckeyes with five goals and seven points and Leah Sax and Kampbell Stone each scored four goals, while Makena Harrington had a hat trick and four points. Brynn Ammerman notched four points with a goal and three assists. Annie Hargraves tallied twice and Emily Magalotti and Kate Tyack each had a goal and an assist. Abby Boyle was first for the Buckeyes with seven draw controls and Magalotti picked up a team-best four ground balls. Joceyln Torres made 10 saves in the Buckeye cage.
- Senior defender Lilli Sherman was selected the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week after an outstanding two games last week.
- Sherman had five ground balls and four caused turnovers combined in the Buckeyes' two wins. Ohio State limited its opponents to 14 goals and 37 shots in the two games combined.Â
- Against the Ducks in the B1G opener, Sherman had two ground balls and a career-high four caused turnovers and the Buckeyes allowed just 14 shots. She had three ground balls vs. the Aztecs in a 22-8 win.Â
- Junior goalie Jocelyn Torres was named to the Tewaaraton Watch List after an outstanding start to the season.Â
- She has 61 saves, with just 49 goals allowed, through her first eight games as a Buckeye.Â
- Torres ranks second nationally in save percentage (.555) and goals-against average (6.38).
