Parker Thackston Named Big Ten Specialist of the Week

Thackston earned his second weekly award of the season after another pommel horse win on Sunday.
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Big Ten Conference announced its weekly men's gymnastics awards on Tuesday. Junior Parker Thackston was named Big Ten Specialist of the Week for the second time this season and the fourth time in his career.

This past weekend, Thackston earned his fourth win in four total meets this season on the pommel horse. Thackston scored a 14.500 on pommel horse to take the crown against No. 1 Oklahoma. He also contributed to the team score on high bar. This season, Thackston ranks second in the country on pommel horse (14.500).

Ohio State hosts No. 6 Penn State on Sunday at 1 p.m. for a dual meet. Admission and parking to all home meets is free. Stay after the meet as the Buckeyes celebrate senior day.
