No. 8 Buckeyes Start Big Ten Play vs. Purdue and Indiana

Ohio State will host Purdue Friday and Indiana Sunday in Columbus
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 8-ranked Ohio State women's tennis team continues its homestand with its first Big Ten matches of the season. The team hosts Purdue at 1 p.m. Friday and Indiana at noon Sunday in the Ty Tucker Tennis Center. Admission and parking are free.

Friday is the team's Breast Cancer Awareness match. Sunday, there will be giveaways featuring team gear, Raising Canes and Chick-fil-A. Â

Ohio State heads into the weekend 6-1 after defeating then-No. 16 Oklahoma State Sunday. Purdue is 7-1 and Indiana is 5-5 ahead of its Friday match against University of Illinois-Chicago.

- Four Buckeyes are in the singles rankings: No. 9 Luciana Perry, No. 47 Teah Chavez, No. 79 Audrey Spencer and No. 86 Nao Nishino. The ranking is a personal best for both Chavez and Nishino.
- In doubles, the duo of Perry and Chavez is No. 41, the first time the tandem has been ranked.
- Ohio State is one of four Big Ten teams ranked in the Top 25, joined by No. 3 Michigan, No. 20 Wisconsin and No. 21 USC.
- The Buckeyes hold a 36-23 record against the Boilermakers. Ohio State is currently on a 13-match winning streak over Purdue.
- Ohio State last faced Purdue on the road in 2024, posting a 4-0 win. The teams first played in 1976.
