No. 17 Buckeyes Remain on Road Against No. 14 Duke

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The No. 17-ranked Ohio State women's tennis team will continue its time on the road with a match at No. 14 Duke Friday. The teams will face off at 5 p.m. in Durham, N.C. Ohio State heads into the match with a 4-1 record and Duke is 5-1.

- The Buckeyes are No. 17 in the most recent ITA Coaches Poll, released this week.
- Four Buckeyes are featured in the singles rankings, with Luciana Perry at No. 9, Teah Chavez No. 55, Audrey Spencer No. 60 and Nao Nishino No. 107. This marks the first time Chavez and Nishino have been ranked in singles.
- In doubles, the duo of Dani Schoenly and Alessia Cau is No. 63, the first time in the ITA rankings for both Buckeyes.
- The Buckeyes won the last matchup, posting a 4-0 win at home last February. The team secured the doubles point against the Blue Devils. Irina Cantos Siemers, Shelly Bereznyak and Sydni Ratliff all completed singles wins to claim the victory.
- Prior to 2024, the Buckeyes fell to the Blue Devils 4-3 in a road match in 2022.
- The first match between the teams was in 1976.
- Ohio State is 2-8 all-time against Duke.

- Chavez extended her winning streak to six with a victory in singles against Notre Dame.
- Perry leads the team with 18 singles wins, followed closely by Chavez at 17 and Nishino at 16.
- The Buckeyes are headed home for matches later this month. The team will face No. 13 Oklahoma State on Feb. 23 followed by the first Big Ten home matches against Purdue Feb. 28 and Indiana March 2.
