- The Ohio State men's hockey team begins its 2026 slate with a home-and-home series vs. instate foe Bowling Green this weekend.
- Friday, the  Buckeyes and Falcons will meet at 6:30 p.m. in the Schottenstein Center in Columbus. The game will be streamed through B1G+.Â
- Saturday, the teams will face off in Slater Family Ice Arena in Bowling Green, Ohio, at 6:07 p.m. The contest will be streamed by Midco Sports Plus.

- Ohio State is 6-10 on the year (2-6 Big Ten) and last played Dec. 4-5, splitting a series vs. Minnesota in Columbus (L 3-6, W OT 6-5). Bowling Green is 8-5-3, with a 6-3-3 CCHA ledger. The Falcons, who faced the USA Hockey NTDP Monday in an exhibition game, hosted Northern Michigan Dec. 5-6 to close their first half slate, with a 3-2 loss and 4-3 OT win.

- Ohio State and Bowling Green were founding members of the CCHA in 1971-72. The Buckeyes left and skated as an independent in 1973-74 and 1974-75, but rejoined the Falcons in the CCHA in 1975-76 and remained in the league until it disbanded in that form in 2012-13.Â

Buckeye This and That
- Ohio State has played five overtime games this season, including in four of the last seven outings. The Buckeyes dropped their first four OT contests before defeating Minnesota in the last time out.
- Seven of the Buckeyes' 10 losses this year have been by one goal, with the lone exceptions two defeats at Michigan and a 6-3 loss to Minnesota that included two empty net goals by the Gophers. Ohio State is 1-7 in one-goal games this campaign.
- Ohio State is averaging 3.13 goals a game, with three or more goals in 10 games. The squad had a season-high six goals in its last contest and has three games with five goals this year.
- The Buckeyes are allowing 3.44 goals per contest, giving up three or more in each of the last seven games.Â

Max Montes leads the Buckeye squad with 146 wins, while Riley Thompson has 124, Â Jake Karabela has 111 and Ryan Gordon has 105. Among Buckeyes with more than 25 faceoffs, Montes is first with a .564 winning percentage.Â
- Twenty-one Buckeyes have posted at least one point this year, with 15 scoring a goal and 21 notching at least one assist. Â
- Ohio State will be back in Big Ten play next weekend, hosting Michigan State Jan. 9-10.
