
Buckeyes Prevail Against Ranked Mountaineers

Ohio State overcame a four-point deficit with less than two minutes to play to earn its first ranked win of the season.
NASSAU, Bahamas – The RV/RV Ohio State women's basketball team (5-1) beat No. 21/20 West Virginia (6-1) by an 83-81 margin in the championship game at the Baha Mar Pink Flamingo Championship on Wednesday.
West Virginia jumped out to a 9-0 lead but Ohio State battled back and trailed 17-15 at the end of the first quarter. The Buckeyes took their first lead of the game late in the second quarter and held the 33-31 advantage at halftime. The Mountaineers got to the line in the third quarter to regain the lead, 61-55, with 10 minutes to play. The Buckeyes trailed by four with under two minutes to go and regained the lead on a jumper from Elsa Lemmilä before making a pair of free throws to end the game.
Jaloni Cambridge was the first in the game to reach double figures and finished with 22 points. Chance Gray also scored in double figures with 15 points, including four triples. Bryn Martin scored a career-high 16 points and shot 4-of-7 from three-point range.
