Ohio State had four players with at least 10 kills and players with 20 and 19 digs apiece.
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women's volleyball team (5-20, 2-15 B1G) fell to Northwestern (16-13, 6-11 B1G) in four sets (15-25, 27-25, 23-25, 22-25) in Friday evening's Our Honor Defend Military Appreciation match inside the Covelli Center.

Northwestern used an early run to take control of the first set, winning by a 25-15 margin. Ohio State tied the match at a set apiece by scoring the final three points of the second set to earn a 27-25 set win. The Buckeyes' comeback in the third set fell short as the Wildcats took the set by a 25-23 margin. Northwestern won a close fourth set, 25-22, to wrap up the match.

- S1: Reese Wuebker opened the match's scoring with a kill before Northwestern built an early 7-2 lead following a 5-0 run. The Buckeyes got within two at 8-6 on an ace from Abby Yoder but the Wildcats responded with the next seven points to extend their lead to 15-6. The set of runs continued as each team scored three unanswered points down the stretch with Northwestern winning the set by a 25-15 margin.
- S2: Kaia Castle began the second set with a kill and Northwestern grabbed an early 4-2 lead. Ohio State strung together a 5-0 run to take an 8-5 lead. The Wildcats battled back to tie the set at 11, but the Buckeyes scored the next three points. Ohio State held a narrow advantage until Northwestern used a 3-0 run to tie the set at 18. Hannah Jones recorded kills on the next two points but Northwestern tied the set at 21. The teams traded points with Ohio State taking the advantage each time. The Wildcats gained a 25-24 advantage, but the Buckeyes scored the next three points to earn a 27-25 set win on a kill from Ashley Carr. Â
- S3: Kills from Na'Vea Gauthier and Jones opened the set. Northwestern used seven unanswered points to take a 12-6 lead. Ohio State cut its deficit to 13-11 on a kill from Castle, but the Wildcats responded with the next five points to increase their lead to 18-11. The Buckeyes put together a run of their own, scoring the next four points to get within three at 18-15. Ohio State trimmed its deficit to one at 21-20, but the teams traded points to wrap up the set with Northwestern in front, 25-23.
- S4: Northwestern scored first but Ohio State built an early 8-4 advantage on a kill from Castle, prompting a Wildcat timeout. Northwestern got within one out of its timeout and the teams traded points until back-to-back Wildcat points tied the set at 12. The Wildcats gained a 16-15 lead after three unanswered points and used a 4-1 run to increase the lead to 21-18, prompting a Buckeye timeout. The teams traded points down the stretch
- This is the sixth match of the season that Ohio State has had three or more players total at least 10 kills apiece.
- All 10 Buckeyes who saw the court recorded at least two digs.
- For the 15th time this season, Olivia Hasbrook finished with 10 or more digs as she totaled 20 digs tonight. She was the first in the match to reach 10 digs. This is her fifth match of the season with 20 or more digs.
- Mia Tuman recorded her ninth double-double of the season with 45 assists and a season-high 19 digs. Her 19 digs is just one short of her career-high.
- Na'Vea Gauthier reached double-figure kills for the fourth time this season with 11 kills tonight.
- Hannah Jones totaled 10 or more kills for the 13th time this season, finishing with a match-high 15 kills.
- Ashley Carr recorded her fourth match of the season with 10 or more kills, tying her career-high 12 kills tonight.
- Kaia Castle totaled at least 10 kills for the sixth time this season, finishing with 10.
- S2: The set featured 10 ties, including five after each team had 20 points, and four lead changes. Ohio State scored the final three points of the set, fighting off a Northwestern set point to tie the set at 25.
- S3: The Buckeyes trailed by as many as seven points at 18-11 but were within one on multiple occasions down the stretch.
