Buckeye Notes to Know
- The Ohio State men's hockey team heads north for two games at No. 2 Michigan this weekend.Â
- The Buckeyes and Wolverines will meet at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday in Yost Ice Arena in Ann Arbor, Mich.Â
- Both games will be streamed through B1G+.

- Ohio State is 5-5 on the year and 1-3 in the Big Ten after a split at No. 7 Wisconsin last week with a 5-1 win and 6-5 overtime loss. The Wolverines are 11-3 overall this season and have a 4-2 B1G ledger. Last weekend, Michigan split a series at No. 5 Penn State (W 7-1, L 2-4).
Buckeye Notes to Know
- The Buckeyes are in a stretch of six consecutive road games. The squad played at Wisconsin last weekend and will head to Arizona State for a nonconference series Thanksgiving weekend (Nov. 28-29). The next home games are Dec. 4-5 at home and wrap up the 2025 portion of the schedule.Â
- Ohio State and Michigan split two series last season, with all four games decided by one goal. The Buckeyes won 4-3 outside at Wrigley Field Jan. 3 before falling in overtime in Ann Arbor Jan. 5, 3-2. In Columbus Feb. 27-28, the Buckeyes prevailed in overtime 2-1 before a 4-3 loss.Â
- Adam Eisele was named the Big Ten Second Star of the Week after posting a Big Ten-best four points, with three goals and an assist, in the series at Wisconsin last week.Â
- The Buckeyes' losses this season have all been by one goal, including two in overtime.Â
- Ohio State and Michigan faced off for the first time in 1964 and after games in 1969-70, 1974-75 and 1978-79, have met at least once each season since 1981-82 when Michigan joined Ohio State in the CCHA.
- The Wolverines lead the all-time series, 98-53-16, including 50-20-9 in Ann Arbor.Â
- Each team won twice last season, with two games decided in overtime. The squads split a series in January, with Ohio State winning 4-3 outside at Wrigley Field in Chicago Jan. 3 and the Wolverines posting a 3-2 win in Ann Arbor Jan. 5. In Columbus Feb. 27-28, the Buckeyes won 2-1 in overtime on a William Smith goal in game one before Michigan took game two, 4-3.Â
- Davis Burnside leads the current Buckeyes with 13 games played against Michigan, ranking first with four assists and five points vs. the Wolverines. Max Montes has scored four goals vs. UM while playing in eight games. Nathan McBrayer, who has three assists vs. UM, and Thomas Weis have also played eight games against Michigan. Riley Thompson had a 2-2-4 line in four games vs. the Wolverines last season.
- Michigan is 11-3 on the year, with a 6-1 home mark. The squad is 4-2 in B1G play, posting a road sweep at Notre Dame (W 5-3, W OT 2-1), splitting a home series against Wisconsin (W 7-4, L 1-6) and going 1-1 at Penn State last weekend (W 7-1, L 2-4).
- The Wolverines are first in the nation in scoring offense (5.0 goals per game), ranking second in scoring margin (+2.79) and third on the power play (.317). The team is 12th nationally in scoring defense (2.21 goals allowed per game).
- Ohio State will travel for a series at Arizona State Thanksgiving weekend. The teams will meet at 5 p.m. ET Nov. 28 and 7 p.m. ET Nov. 29 in Tempe, Ariz. The games will be streamed through NCHC.tv.Â
- The first half ends with a home series against Minnesota Dec. 4-5. Faceoff is set for 6:30 p.m. for game one and 6 p.m. for game two and BTN will televise both contests. Â
