
Buckeyes Blitz Bruins 48-10

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State took care of business and moved to 10-0 as it rolled past UCLA 48-10 on Saturday night at Ohio Stadium. The Buckeyes dominated on the ground, rushing for 222 yards, the most against a Big Ten opponent this season. Freshman Bo Jackson led the way with a career-high 112 yards and a score. Fellow freshman Isaiah West also had a career-high 61 yards and a touchdown while James Peoples finished with 42 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Julian Sayin was 23-of-31 for 184 yards and one touchdown. Nine different receivers caught a pass, led by Brandon Inniss with a career-high six receptions. Linebacker Sonny Styles led the defense with seven stops while his brother Lorenzo Styles Jr. had five tackles and an electrifying 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in the third quarter. That was the first kickoff return touchdown for the Buckeyes since 2010. The Buckeyes will host Rutgers next Saturday in the home regular season finale. It will also be Senior Day at The Shoe.
First Quarter
UCLA 0, No. 1 Ohio State 10
The Buckeyes set the tone right from the start, forcing a UCLA 3-and-out on the opening drive of the game. They then marched 71 yards on eight plays for a score, capped by a Bo Jackson 1-yard run. Jeremiah Smith highlighted the drive with another tremendous one-handed grab. After another UCLA punt, Jayden Fielding connected on a 41-yard field goal and the Buckeyes would lead 10-0 after the first quarter.


Second Quarter
UCLA 0, No. 1 Ohio State 27
The Buckeyes opened the second quarter with another time-consuming drive, covering 82 yards in 6:51, as Sayin hit Bryson Rodgers for an 11-yard score. A second UCLA 3-and-out led to another Buckeye touchdown drive. This one featured a career-high 38-yard run for Isaiah West and was capped by a spectacular hurdling 19-yard TD run by James Peoples. That put the Buckeyes in front 24-0. UCLA went 3-and-out once again and the ensuing punt was blocked by Caden Curry, giving the Buckeyes the ball back on the UCLA 14-yard line. Fielding kicked a 33-yard field goal, and the Buckeyes took a 27-0 lead into the break.



Third Quarter
UCLA 7, No. 1 Ohio State 41
The third quarter was played at a slower pace as both teams hard a hard time getting going offensively. The Buckeyes broke through late in the quarter as West punctuated a 13-play drive with a 1-yard run to make the score 34-0 in favor of the Buckeyes. Jackson accounted for 29 yards on the drive. UCLA then responded with a quick 75-yard touchdown drive to get on the board and cut the lead to 34-7. But whatever momentum the Bruins gained was quickly lost as Lorenzo Styles Jr. ran the kickoff back for a 100-yard touchdown return to push the lead back to 41-7. That was the first kickoff return for a touchdown since Jordan Hall in 2010. am.
