COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 2 Ohio State women's hockey team begins its conference and home schedule this weekend against Bemidji State. The Buckeyes (2-0-0, 0-0-0 WCHA) and Beavers (2-2-0, 0-2-0 WCHA) face off at 6 p.m. Friday and 3 p.m. Saturday from the OSU Ice Rink.

Buckeyes in a Nutshell
- Ohio State opened the season at then-ranked No. 7 Colgate last weekend. The Buckeyes swept the Raiders for the first time in series history, earning 5-3 and 9-4 wins. Joy Dunne and Hilda Svensson each recorded four points on two goals and two assists in the series. Emma Peschel and Svensson were a team-high +6 on ice. Hailey MacLeod played in goal for both games, finishing the weekend with an .800 save percentage.
- Svensson, a freshman forward, earned her first career WCHA Rookie of the Week award following a weekend of firsts. In her first career game, she tallied two assists. She followed up that multi-point performance with a multi-goal outing in game two, scoring twice, including a power play goal, as the Buckeyes came away with the sweep.
- Ohio State remains second in both national polls this week. The team picked up a first-place vote in the USCHO.com poll and received 277 points overall. Ohio State is slated to play seven teams ranked in the top 15 by USCHO.com this season.
- Of the seven freshmen who skated in the season-opening series, six tallied their first career points. The group contributed 13 of 25 points recorded in the first two games of the season for Ohio State, including five goals.
- Through the first weekend of the Buckeyes' season, the team is tied for first nationally in goals per game (7.00) and faceoff win percentage (.698). Jenna Raunio is second in the country with 1.50 assists per game. Dunne and Svensson are tied for third in the country with 1.00 goals per game, 2.00 points per game and one power play goal.
- Ohio State is 314-303-66 all-time in WCHA play. The team finished the 2024-25 season with a 19-6-3 mark in conference games.

- This weekend's series marks the 109th and 110th meeting between the Buckeyes and Beavers. Ohio State is 66-29-13 in the all-time series and 38-12-6 against Bemidji State at home.
