Buckeyes in a Nutshell
- Ohio State is coming off a sweep of No. 11 St. Cloud State last weekend. The Buckeyes won game one against the Huskies, 5-1, and followed that up with a four-goal third period in game two to win, 4-2.
- Hilda Svensson and Emma Peschel won WCHA player of the week awards with Svensson picking up her second Rookie of the Week award after a career-best performance and Peschel earning her first Defender of the Week award of the season. In game one, Svensson scored her second penalty shot of her career and added an assist. In game two, she recorded a career-high four points with assists on every goal scored by the Buckeyes. Her four points and assists against the Huskies were the most by a WCHA player in a game this season. Peschel recorded four points on the weekend and scored the game-winning power play goal in game two. The captain helped the Buckeye defensive effort hold St. Cloud State to 1.50 goals and 13.50 shots per game.
- The Buckeyes' leading point scorer through eight games this year is Svensson with 13 points. Jenna Raunio has recorded a team-high nine assists and Joy Dunne leads the way with eight goals for the Buckeyes. Raunio and Dunne join Svensson as the other double-digit point scorers with 10 and 11, respectively.
- Dunne is the first WCHA player to record a hat trick this season, scoring three times in the final 12 minute of the 4-2 win over St. Cloud State. The hat trick is her third of her career and first since the 2023-24 season.
- Ohio State's total goals (38) and points (85), scoring margin (2.50), scoring offense (4.75) and faceoff win percentage (.655) rank in the top five nationally. Raunio is fifth in the country with 1.13 assists per game while Dunne is third with 1.33 goals and 1.83 points per game.
