
Peschel, Svensson Earn WCHA Weekly Awards

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State women's hockey's Emma Peschel and Hilda Svensson were named Western Collegiate Hockey Association players of the week, the conference announced Monday. Peschel is the WCHA Defender of the Week and Svensson is Rookie of the Week.
Peschel picks up her first weekly award after recording four points in the Buckeyes' series sweep of No. 11 St. Cloud State. She tallied two assists and was plus-2 in the 4-1 game one win of the Huskies. In game two, she scored the third of Ohio State's four goals scored in the final 12 minutes of game two, the game-winning goal, to help the Buckeyes get the 4-2 win. She helped the Buckeye defensive effort hold St. Cloud State to 1.5 goals and 13.50 shots on goals per game.
Svensson earns her second Rookie of the Week award after leading the Buckeyes with six points and five assists in the series sweep of St. Cloud State. Her lone goal of the weekend came on penalty shot in game one. She scored her second penalty shot in as many attempts this season. She added an assist on the power play goal in the game one win. In game two, the rookie assisted all four third period goals for the Buckeyes for a career single-game high points. She was the primary assist on three of the four goals and two of her four assists were power play points.
