Buckeyes Fall to Wolverines on Friday Night

Reese Wuebker led Ohio State with 12 kills, six digs and tied her career-high three aces.
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women's volleyball team (3-14, 0-9 B1G) fell in three sets (18-25, 9-25, 18-25) to Michigan (13-7, 3-6 B1G) on Friday evening inside the Covelli Center in the Scarlet Out.
Michigan used a late run to win the first set by a 25-18 margin. The Wolverines got off to a hot start in the second set and earned a 25-9 set win. Michigan ended the match with a 25-18 set win in the third set.

- S1: Michigan opened scoring in the match and used a 5-0 run to take an early 8-4 advantage. Ohio State got within one at 11-10 on Reese Wuebker's second ace of the set. The Wolverines scored back-to-back points to take a 15-12 lead into the media timeout. The teams traded points out of the media timeout until Michigan scored the final four points of the set to win by a 25-18 margin.
- S2: The Wolverines scored the first seven points of the set before Ashley Carr got the Buckeyes on the board with a solo block. Ohio State got within four, trailing 8-4, but Michigan used a 6-0 run to push its lead to 18-7. The Wolverines scored the final seven points of the set to earn a 25-9 set win.
- S3: Michigan scored the first two points of the set and the set was tied six times by the time the score was 8-8. The Buckeyes used three consecutive points to take a 10-8 lead but the Wolverines responded with the next four points to take a 12-10 lead. Michigan used an extended 7-1 run to increase that lead to 19-12 and won the set by a 25-18 margin.
- Today's attendance was the second-highest home attendance of the season for the Buckeyes.
- Reese Wuebker tied her career-high three aces. She also recorded at least 10 kills for the 10th time this season, finishing the match with a team-high 12 kills.
- S1: Wuebker led all players with six kills on seven swings (.857) and a pair of aces in the set.
- Ohio State hosts No. 18 Penn State on Sunday at noon for the Scarlet & Gray match. The match will be broadcast live on B1G+. All fans with an assigned seat will receive a free T-shirt. The Buckeyes will be hosting a meet and greet with the team on the concourse after the match.
