The Buckeyes drew the largest home crowd of the season on Sunday for the Scarlet & Gray match.
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women's volleyball team (3-15, 0-10 B1G) fell in four sets (25-22, 23-25, 17-25, 18-25) No. 18 Penn State (13-7, 7-3 B1G) on Sunday afternoon in the Scarlet & Gray match at the Covelli Center. Â

Ohio State scored the final five points of the first set to earn a 25-22 set win. Penn State evened the match with a 25-23 win in the second set after 12 ties and five lead changes in the set. The Nittany Lions gained match advantage with a 25-17 set win in the third set. Penn State wrapped up the match with a 25-18 set win in the fourth.

- S1: Penn State opened scoring and built an early 6-2 lead. Ohio State got within one at 9-8 amidst a 4-0 run including two service aces from Abby Yoder. The Buckeyes took their first lead of the set at 12-11 on a kill from Kaia Castle before a 6-0 run from the Nittany Lions gave PSU a 17-12 lead. Ohio State tied the set again at 20 with a 4-0 run capped by a kill from Na'Vea Gauthier. The Buckeyes scored the final five points of the set to secure a 25-22 set win on a kill from Mina Gunes.
- S2: Ohio State scored first, and the set was tied at every point until back-to-back OSU points gave the Buckeyes an 8-6 lead. The Buckeyes led by an 11-8 margin before three consecutive Nittany Lion points tied the set again at 11. PSU used another 3-0 run to gain a 16-13 advantage and OSU used a 4-0 run to gain a 20-19 advantage. The lead changed for the fifth time of the set as Penn State strung together three unanswered points to take a 23-21 lead and evened the match with a 25-23 set win.
- S3: Penn State scored first and assumed a narrow lead early as neither team scored more than two unanswered points heading into the media timeout with PSU up 15-12. The Nittany Lions extended their lead to 17-12 and then 20-14, prompting a Buckeye timeout. Penn State scored five of the final six points to earn a 25-17 set win.
- S4: The Buckeyes opened scoring, but the Nittany Lions used a 3-0 run to grab an early 6-4 lead. The teams alternated scoring before Penn State put together an 8-0 run to extend its lead to 20-10, amidst an Ohio State timeout. The Buckeyes battled back with a 5-1 run to cut the deficit to 22-16 on an ace from Mia Stahler. The Nittany Lions earned a 25-18 set win to end the match.
